Robinson to start season on IL?
Quote:
Robinson to return? O'Brien said veteran forward Glenn Robinson could start the season on the injured list because of the time he has missed while attending to a personal family matter.
"We have to make a decision," the coach said. "Because he's missed so much time, I don't know if he's going to be ready for the beginning of the season, so he's a candidate" for the injured list.
Robinson left the team Tuesday evening before the Sixers' game against Utah. O'Brien said he could be back for tomorrow's practice.
Robinson's departure came shortly before O'Brien told reporters that Robinson was being replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Andre Iguodala. But O'Brien has said he told Robinson of the change after Monday's practice, and that his departure was not related in any way to the lineup news.
"It's his decision whether or not to ever explain it," O'Brien said. "That will put the idea of him leaving because of not starting very quickly to rest. This is a very serious matter. I would say this, if Glenn had been told the day before that he was starting, he still wouldn't be here."

I'm still doubting it's a family emergency, what makes it even worse is that they're thinking about putting on the IL saying he's missed a lot of time but he's been there all preseason except for this past week. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

i would like to see him if not starting the game he can start the game on the bench because he isn´t the best scorer and player but can help us in rotations minuts so i would like to have him on sixers bench if not starting.

I just don't want this guy to corrupt our players with his bad attitude. I would allow him to miss practice and not even attend games and sit at home getting paid than letting him be a bad influence on the team.

This is something I've been saying all along, but I'm not sure exactly what we can get back for him.

Its too early to say at this point. He isnt even valuable until closer to the all-star break. That is when you will see the value of his contract sky rocket
