Trade Idea
Boston Celtics Trade:
Ricky Davis - $5,454,000
Michael Stewart - $4,800,000 (expiring)
Tom Gugliotta - $2,700,000 (expiring)
Total Contract Amount - $12,954,000
Philadelphia 76ers Trade:
Glenn Robinson - $12,000,000 (expiring)
Total Contract Amount - $12,000,000
Analysis
It gives Philly another athletic swingman (yes i know, another swingman, but still) to run beside Iverson and Iggy, they would be great together because they all play defense, they can all run, they are all athletic (they would make great highlight reels), and if Ricky Davis gets his head on straight, he can be a great player and a great team player, we also get cap space back so we can resign our young players
Boston gives up Ricky Davis who i have heard Doc Rivers isn't particularily fond of, and get more cap space in return, this in turn would open up space for Jiri Welsch (even if he had to play 6th man for one season) and they could find a better power forward or point guard (most likely point guard since Payton will probably retire shortly and they have Al Jefferson who looks good)
what do you think?

I don't know if it's a good idea to make a trade like this considering that it's in division, and I'm not too sure Boston would go for it. Also knowing Danny Ainge, if this trade happened.. he would swipe a draft pick (or two) from Billy King.
Also another problem, while I like Ricky Davis as a player Jim O'Brien doesn't, so he'd be sitting next to Kenny Thomas and Samuel Dalembert on the bench staring into space as McKie, Williamson, and Jackson are on the court together.

What Phillyphanatic said above. And Boston wouldn't gain all of that $12.9 mil when Robinson goes off the book either because of the expiring contracts they gave to Philly. Ainge ain't gonna do it.
Billy King needs to do something, make a trade, any trade, or buyout Robinson. Robinson rotting on IL does this team absolutely no good. I would imagine Robinson is quite happy collecting money and not having to sweat an ounce of sweat. And Robinson has a decent resume that even if he doesn't play this season, he could still find a decent journey-man type job next season. Hell a contender like Miami would love to pick up Big Dog this year or next year for dirt cheap! Man if Big Dog ends up in Miami for cheap and say the Heat and the Sixers meet in the playoffs, can you imagine the gloating Big Dog will put on his face everytime he drains a 3ball from a Wade's pass? Damn I reckon Robinson will probably stare down O'Briend as he runs back on dee. lol

I doubt they'd do that, Glen Robinson isn't really one of those up tempo guys that would fit the Celtics rotation.

Jim O'Brien basically quit last year because of the addition of Ricky Davis( and the loss of Eric WIlliams) I don't think he'll like him anymore this time. Besides, at this point, I'm more for trading Robinson and Thomas for a PF who can shoot. We don't need another SG/SF at all.

robinson and 2nd round pick in exchange for ron artest
pacers get an instant boost and 12m free cap space at end of season
sixers get 12m salary cleared and pick up an all star(tempremental) who is signed for 6m a season and still got room to make trades with other 6m

I see no way Boston would accept such a deal. There's really no positive to them making this trade at all, talent-wise or financially.

Glenn Rob is better then Eric Williams (who was arguably the best play in the Davis deal last year other then Davis) and the Celts would be getting an extra 5 mil in cap space, and from wut i've heard Doc (i think it was Doc) isn't very fond of Davis, but neither is coach obie

I think we need to throw Thomas in with robinson and get a PF who can shoot. Maybe Vladmir Radmonovic. O'Brien's system doesn't seem to support a back-to-the-basket player
