Why is everyone sleeping on the Sixers

I just read the East playoff picture thread, and a lot of people don't even have the Sixers making the playoffs, they have played the toughest schedule in the league so far, Miami, Magic Twice, Spurs, Sonics, Pacers pre-brawl, Pistons, Suns, Wizards, Knicks, all of them are .500 teams, they've only played 2 teams under 500, Boston and New Jersey, they've had starting line up woes because coach Obie keeps fluxuating the line up and the bench, some players are still adjusting to his system but they're getting that down now, Obie also already has a doghouse (Samuel Dalembert, Kenny Thomas), he is not necessarily playing the best players, he is playing the players he likes, soon enough Samuel will get a starting role (he is averaging 5.5 rpg in only 18 mpg) and in every game above 20 minutes, he's averaging 7 rpg, but the average of those minutes is still only 23 mpg (he is also averaging close to 2 bpg in those games as well), so his rebounding and blocking is for real, he is not the fluke some people thought he was, when he does start, it will really help the team, and we are still hovering around .500 even with playing arguably the 5 best teams in the L (Seattle, San Antonio, Indiana, Miami and Phoenix), one game behind first place, with that schedule, don't expect them to miss the playoffs

Yup, they have a nice little team there. Dalembert needs to play more though, as the Sixers have absolutely zero shot blocking without him. Jackson is great and all, but he just shouldn't be starting IMO. Hell, put Dalembert at the 4 for some minutes, any minutes at all would be nice.

AI-Salmons-Ig-Thomas-Dalembert is a very solid starting lineup in the East, and easily a playoff team.

exactly, but dont count on Thomas starting, he doesnt fit in Obies system at all, thats why his play has been so terrible as of late, he gets played on the perimiter which doesnt allow him to get offensive boards and doesnt allow him to post up, it allows him to shoot mid range jumpers, which he is good at yes, to a point, sitting out there and shooting them all day doesnt help

Don't worry, come mid season Sixers will be on everyone's playoff lists.
