New York Knicks (11-11) Vs Philadelphia 76ers (9-12)
@Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA
Aired on:  and
Projected Starting Lineups:

Season Series: Knicks lead 1-0.
Storyline: PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers look to extend their winning streak to a season-high four games when they host the New York Knicks in their second meeting of the year.
Philadelphia rallied from an 18-point deficit in the third quarter and defeated the Denver Nuggets, 110-102, on Tuesday. Allen Iverson led with way with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Willie Green scored his season-high 17 in the final 16 minutes.
Iverson, the league's third-leading scorer (26.0 points), has eight double-doubles this season and needs 44 points to become the seventh active player with 15,000.
The Knicks lost to the Detroit Pistons, 94-93, on Wednesday. Jamal Crawford led New York with 25 points, while Stephon Marbury added 18, despite missing the potential game-winning shot at the buzzer.
Allan Houston scored a season-high 17 points in his fourth game back following a knee injury and played as part of a three-guard offense with Marbury and Crawford for most of the fourth quarter.
New York won the earlier meeting, 96-88, on November 9. Crawford led the Knicks with 22 points, while Iverson added 29 points and 10 assists for the 76ers, who committed 28 turnovers.
The Knicks have taken six of the last seven matchups.

We need this win bad. Losing shouldn't be an option for us. Our players need to go out and play hard every single second of the game to guarantee us this victory. We've had enough rest and the Knicks had a tough loss recently and it's on our homecourt, these are enough reasons to win. Also, we need to start moving up the Atlantic rankings faster and this is a good way to start.

Why did Willie Green start over Korver?

Is it because Korver has a broken nose? O'Brien messes with his lineups too much.

Should be a good matchup between two of the premier East point guards in Iverson and Marbury, and two up-and-coming big man in Dalembert and Mohammed.
I hope we take this.

"If you've ever seen Iverson play in person, you know that his improvisational skills are amazing. Baron Davis calls him unguardable. He's a killer on the fast break. One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"
