Game Thread: 76ers Vs Utah Jazz

December 20, 2004 - 7:00 PM (EST)

Utah Jazz (10-15) Vs Philadelphia 76ers (10-13)

@Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA

Aired on: and

Projected Starting Lineups:

Season Series: First meeting of the season.

Storyline: PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz try to avoid an eighth consecutive road defeat when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

Utah, which is on its longest road skid since dropping eight in a row from December 22, 1996-January 11, 1997, absorbed its seventh straight away defeat on Sunday, a 94-93 setback at New York.

Matt Harpring scored 21 points - just four in the second half - four the Jazz, who lost for the 14th time in 18 games.

Utah, which is 0-3 on a five-game road trip, slipped to 2-9 since placing All-Star forward Andrei Kirilenko on the injured list with a sprained MCL in his right knee.

The Sixers have won four of their last five games, including a 116-97 triumph at Milwaukee on Saturday in which Allen Iverson scored an NBA season-high 54 points.

Iverson, who recorded his 15,000th career point during the win, made 17-of-29 shots and 16-of-21 free throws for his sixth career 50-point game.

Utah has won five of the last six meetings with the Sixers and three of the last four encounters in Philadelphia.

What a waste of Iverson's efforts. The team really needs to step it up more.

they wasted another opportunity to win. Sign of a young team, I guess.

If only this team had a couple more years with AI in his prime, so that they could develop. It seems like right as AI starts to decline, the young bucks will finally be experienced.

I really think AI deserves better than what BK has given him all these years.

There should be no excuse for losing this game especially when one of your players goes off for 50+. That just means the rest of the team wasn't there for him.

It's nice to see Andre Iguodala being more aggressive on the offensive end, but what the hell is Dalembert doing? Other than the three blocks he was terrible.

step it up.

Korver lit it up. 5 threes.

But we're also hurting up front. Kenny Thomas was out again and Williamson was ejected.

I haven't had a chance to watch the game, but this is one of the ugliest box scores I've ever seen in my life. I wonder if it was the defense Utah played, or if we were just this atrocious.

it was atrocious, especially down the stretch, we had so many offensive rebounds but we couldn't make anything off of them, Marc Jackson and Brian Skinner were cleaning the offensvie glass and getting tips, but they missed about 6 tips in the final minute

I really wish Skinner didn't try that last tip in with his wrist..

Very dissapointed, but Philly putting up good games lately. They shouldnt' lost to NY and Utah. If they won those games they could of being on a 7 game winning streak ? or is that 6 ?

Anyways, good signs, and hopefully it will continue !
