Iggy still a Wildcat at Heart..

Quote:
It was early last Saturday in Milwaukee, and there sat former University of Arizona standout Andre Iguodala, eating breakfast with his former teammates.

"I just had to go and be with my boys," said Iguodala, who hours earlier had checked into the same hotel with his current team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

In fact, outside of a 76ers' meeting that made him miss the first half of Arizona's 48-43 win at Marquette on Saturday, he was all but a Wildcat, showing up in the second half at the Bradley Center in an Arizona warmup.

"It was great to see him there," Arizona coach Lute Olson said.

For Iguodala, it was great to be there amid the life he left last spring for the riches of the NBA. He was the ninth player selected in the draft and left UA after his sophomore year.

"The main thing I miss is right after the game and in the locker room, when everybody is excited about the win," Iguodala said.

"There are so many games in the (NBA) that right after (wins or losses), you don't even think about it. The clock hits zero, you move on to the next game, so you don't have time to think about it."

Saturday, he was congratulating his former Cats, a chest bump here, a handshake there. When the team arrived in the postgame locker room you could hear a massive celebration, and Iguodala was right in the middle.

He has stayed close to some, talking with them on the phone from time to time.

"You miss this stuff, just being with the guys," he said. "You miss being able to hang out with them because in the league you don't have time to hang out. Everything is more of a business. You have to think of it that way.

My teams will never win a championship anyway, so why don't you discuss everything else at my forum? Good idea, right? Yeah, I thought so. It's called.. Booing Santa Claus. See you there.
