Sixers got too less for Robinson
With all the trade-value of all star players going down, I think the Sixers just got too less for Robinson. When I see Baron Davis going to GSW for Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton, I wonder if the Sixers missed a real chance to get him. I mean for example get him for Robinson and Green. That leaves the Hornets with the decision between Speedy and Willie. Or look at what the Hawks got for Antione Walker. Not much more than a #1-pick. I like how the Sixers roster gained quality, but I think they also missed a big chance to gain even more.
Look a those starting fives:
With the Hornets-trade: With the Celtics-trade:
Davis Iverson
Iverson Iggy
Korver Walker
Webber Webber
Delambert Delambert

Iverson is our point guard is our point guard no need to bring in a injury prone PG. 2ndly Having Webber negates the neccessity of having Walker who is a Poor Mans Chris Webber so to speak. Im not fan of the Mash/Rogers trade but its better than nothing

Re: Sixers got too less for Robinson
I don't agree. There are only so many shots to go around. With Iverson, Davis/Walker, and Webber, I doubt ppl like Korver would ever get a shot, and we need Korver's 3pt ability. I'm also not a fan of Walker because of his insanely low shooting percentages, and we have already traded away 2 future firsts. We shouldn't continue trading away our draft picks IMO. Dalembert, Iggy, Green, and Korver all came through the draft.

Re: Sixers got too less for Robinson
You're right. But Webber misses usually about 30 games per season and Iverson can't stay healthy 82 games the way he plays, so it would be nice to have some kind of a insurance. And I'd just rather have Baron Davis than Green and Rogers on my roster. They could've also got KVH for Robinson if you look what Dallas had to send to Milwaukee...I mean the Sixers are over the cap anyway...

True, but if the Sixers got KVH or Davis they would seriously be in cap hell. At least Greenis earning the minimum and Rogers' contract expires after this season. Mashburn will probably retire, taking his contract off teh books a bit early with insurance too. With DAvis or KVH, the sixers would have 60 million tied up by 4 players, yikes. Also, Davis is even more injury-prone then Webber.

Good to see you come back around JBH. Hopefully enjoy your stay, and decide to stick around for a while.
Now while the Sixers are already in cap hell, the problem they faced right here was that they didn't want a huge contract like Keith Van Horn has for next season. According to Chad Ford's piece a few days ago, the Sixers already paid the luxury tax last season, so they don't want to be faced where they have to pay a ludicrous amount for the next two offseason. KVH would've helped, but I can't complain since we made such a phenomenal deal to acquire Webber.
Though in the trade for Rogers, I wouldn't have minded seeing us pick up George Lynch (who has one year left after this season), or someone else because Rogers while he provides depth isn't enough. Hopefully some players will be bought out soon, giving us a chance to increase our depth.

I don't think Robinson should have been traded at all, but if I would trade him Rodney Rogers would have been one of the first on my list, for big depth. If Mash retires, it doesn't make a difference, and if he doesn't, then he'll be good off the bench next year. Davis' contract is too huge, and he's just a better version of Willie Green, neither off them play well with AI at all. I think Green should have been traded, but for Spreewell or somebody of that nature.

Re: Sixers got too less for Robinson
I just wish they could have got PJ Brown rather than Mashburn. That deal would have worked and it's disappointing they couldn't pull it off. Getting PJ, would have given the Sixers a chance to run to the Finals.

Re: Sixers got too less for Robinson
Hey, look at the bright side, we gave up a bag of dirt who wasn't going to play at all this season for a good back up who can launch the THREE in Rogers. Not bad. He wasn't my ideal choice, but after acquiring Webber, I can live with that. And we also have the unknown in Mashburn. Players are always coming back from Knee injuries, and if he retires - it's a win/win b/c his contract will come off the books. Same w/ Rogers.
So, let's give BK a break on this one.

Re: Sixers got too less for Robinson
P.J. Brown would have been awesome here. He's a tough defensive player that rebounds and can hit the short jumpers.

But when would he play? O'Brien seems to like Jackson, which leaves him 18 per, with a huge contract that's 2 years. I think king should have let him be, but at least Mash might retire.
