Can the Sixers defend their homecourt?

As often pointed out many frustrated fans, the problem with this Sixers team throughout the season has been consistency. They would win a big game, and then they'd come out flat the next, sometimes the problem with consistency would go from half to half, quarter to quarter and even sometimes in between possessions.

As the season grew shorter, into April the Sixers started to play a lot better and gained steam, with stands where they put back to back wins in huge spots like when they beat the Heat and Pacers on successive nights. Now with tonight's win over the Pistons, where the Sixers probably played their best offensive game of the season, the worry is the same that we've had all season.. can the Sixers carry the momentum from this game into the next?

What was huge in this game, was Iverson's confidence in his teammates, even when things weren't extremely bright for a player he gave them the ball in spots where they could be successful. At one point, Iverson penetrated and had Kyle on the wing and AI found Iguodala beyond the arc instead, and Iggy made good on that by hitting the shot.

The Sixers played out of their minds, beating a hot shooting Pistons team, and completely negating the Pistons bench. 55% from the field is incredible. And while it doesn't look like it on the stat sheet, the Sixers when they needed to came up with huge plays defensively.

Will the Sixers play this well next game? Most likely not, but they know they have to play outstanding basketball to beat the Pistons on Sunday afternoon. The major question remains, will we see them come in with the same form of energy two games in a row?

We all know the fans will be amped.

I believe we can. We have played some amazing games on our homecourt and I think our young players understand what it means to be in the playoffs. Consistancy has been the issue for the season, but we need to break the habit sometime. Now is better time than ever.

I'm not so sure. This last win was tremendous. Best game they've played all year, except maybe the Heat game. The thing is, that the victory came off of jump shots. which means Detroit was still forcing them into halfcourt mode more often than not. I personally don't think the Sixers can shoot 55% on jumpers over the course of this series.

Let's hope they can defend their court tomorrow. I really want to see Webber do well again.

All im sayin is i know we can, but we wont shoot 55 % from the floor everygame. We played our best ball of the series in game 3 and detroit was still in the game until the final 2 min. if we continue to force turnovers and not allow ben wallace to have 29 points lol, we will win game 4 and tie up the series.

Re: Can the Sixers defend their homecourt?

Yeah we can. lol. Ben Wallace won't get 29 points, that's the kinda stuff you just gotta live with. I'd rather have him have 29 points than any other player on the court. Let Ben Wallace gain offensive confident. He still sucks on the O side of the ball.

We must play better D. That's how we will defend home court. Player better Defense, and stop giving up open shots. Practice on our rotations.

And it seems like on offense, we try to run a play and it just doesn't work and the next thing you know, it's 7 seconds left on the shot clock, so we just have to force somethin up.

We gotta work on defense...that's all I'm worry bout. Dalembert is takin some ill advised shots too....but he is doin great on defense so you can't be mad.

Yeah, when he makes those weird jumpers like the one he hit on Rasheed Wallace, it's a gift and a curse. I mean good because we got the points, bad because he suddenly thing he has Tracy McGrady's shooting ability, and will start firing shots no matter where he is on the floor.
