Chris Webber Vs Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson, Brian Skinner

Who's better after the trade?

Both the Kings, and Sixers made the playoffs as a lower seeded team, and both teams lost the games on their oppositions home court to start the series. Then the teams responded in front of a raucous crowds with near identical final scores with the Kings winning over the Sonics 116-104, and the Sixers beating the Pistons 115-104. Now both franchises are still in the whole fighting to even the series.

While the team's situations are eerily similar, the main difference is the amount of players that each received from the other who are playing in the playoffs. It was a three for three trade, the Kings give minutes to Williamson, Thomas, and Skinner while the Sixers only play Chris Webber.

So who won the trade? Let's take a look at the averages of the players throughout the first three games of their respective series..

Kenny Thomas - 12.7 PPG, 8 RPG, 2.3 APG in 29 MPG
Brian Skinner - 2.7 PPG, 3.7 RPG, .7 APG in 15.3 MPG
Corliss Williamson - 5 PPG, 2 RPG, 2 APG in 8 MPG

Chris Webber - 20.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 2.3 APG in 33 MPG

Watching Chris Webber perform well again in another playoff game, I still hold to the belief that the Sixers are a better team after the Webber trade. Many didn't believe that, but Chris Webber is playing a high level of basketball right now, and even if the trade was for three players we needed another guy who teams had to respect like Webber.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is no way I would take that trade back. Webber will make people just look stupid next year after another year of rehab on that knee.

You won't find me disagreeing with you there. I supported the Webber trade when it happened, and I still supported it, the only problem is I expected things to come along a little faster, but I'm fine with it now.

Remember when people were saying he was worse than Marc Jackson?

Give Webber the summer back, he'll never be the guy he was before the knee injury but he's going to be a lot better movement wise than now. He'll be an All-Star 2006, I just have a good feeling about that.

Yeah, I remember all that. Philly fans are so fickle. If the Sixers lose next game you will see a lot of people saying how bad O'Brien is, how bad Webber is, how Green needs more time, how MJax sucks, how Sammy isn't worth resigning, etc. As long as we win, then everyone is doing alright.

Webber has more talent in his wrist than MJax has in his entire body. It isn't even close. The thing with the Webber trade is that it took Sammy much longer before he even got a chance to start for O'Brien and learn the system. Webber came in at a bad time and picked it up in a couple weeks. He learned the system, but was just in a shooting slump. Him and AI are only going to get better.

Haha, I'm that type of Sixers fan. When we're losing I hate on everybody except Iverson. But, when we win I love them all!

I love Webber's talents, but I feel that he never performs to his potential. I would love to see a super aggressive Webber. I want to see him staring down opponents and making hard fouls, maybe even a flagrant. I want to see him fighting hard for rebounds and being aggressive in the post on offense as well as his nice mid range game. If we ever get that Webber, with his skills we will be so dangerous.

Re: Chris Webber Vs Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson, Brian Skinner

the prob is the knees and a friend of me told me he is really slow he doesn run he walk ,he tell me and then he said well iverson dominating the ball so fast and he is walking when iverson shoots the ball the he still hes in half court ,i dont agree with that but he is not fast but he still have the technic and this is one important factor , can pass and shot in the playoffs he is showing it.

Re: Chris Webber Vs Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson, Brian Skinner

Looks like Sacramento fans have already soured on Brian Skinner, so has Rick Adelman who only played Skinner 6 minutes last night.

Dude, did you see Webber taking it to Ben Wallace in the post in games 3 and 4? He used Ben Wallace, the greatest defender in the NBA this year. And he did it on one leg without jumping. He just out smarted him and fought hard to follow his own misses and tapped them in. If you don't think taking Ben Wallace to task is performing, then I'm not sure what will make you happy. Sure, Webber hobbling around and using pump fakes to get by more athletic defenders is really painful to watch, but I think it speaks to the fact that he was trying hard and has more talent with one leg and no jumping ability than the rest of the 76ers big men.

Sorry, I haven't gotten the chance to see those two games yet. I'll be sure to watch them soon. And Webber without question is more talented than any of the big men we have.
