Iggy in his prime

What do you think Iggy could turn into in say...4-5 years? I think he won't exactly be a T-Mac or Kobe, but I think he'd still be really good. IMO, he'd be a 2nd scoring option on a good team if he worked on his J, handles, and his moves. He already has great athleticism. By playing with A.I, I doubt he will ever become a selfish player, which is the downfall of many talented players. Although he won't be a 30 point scorer or anything, he will be an awesome all around player. His defense, passing and rebounding skills are great already. In his prime, I see him averaging-- 38 mpg, 19 ppg on 48%, 7 rpg, 6 apg, 2 spg, and 1 bpg.

Re: Iggy in his prime

In four years, I forsee Iguodala's numbers looking like this:

42 MPG, 22 PPG, 6 RPG, 5 APG, 2 SPG.

He'll probably make the All-Star game once in this span, make a few All-Defensive teams. If the team is smart and keeps stocking up on younger players who can contribute as well as still improve, to team with Iguodala, we could end up being in great shape in four years. That's even knowing that Iverson and Webber will both be gone.

Re: Iggy in his prime

Maybe a Ginobil-type player, a great complement to Iverson.

I see something like 17-7-5-2-1, with a couple of Defensive team selections.

Without Iverson, I see about 20-6-5-2-1 for him.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

Re: Iggy in his prime

I can see Iggy in his prime putting up 16 ppg, 7 rpg, 5 apg, 2 spg in about 38-40 minutes a game. I don't think he will ever become a great scorer because he doesn't have that kind of mentality.

16 points?! Wow, talk about low expectations for the guy, I think he'll be averaging 16 as soon as next season.

You think he will nearly double his scoring by next season? Talk about high expectations. I expect around 11 ppg from him next season, anything more would be a plus.

Re: Iggy in his prime

in that time he will win the slam dunk competetion , if in this post season he works mentaly about the confidence of shooting he can have 16 pts per game easily but if not he will have about 12.

Re: Iggy in his prime

IMO, playing with Iverson plus his natural mentality don't really make him a scorer. He contributes in everything else. He jumps really high so he gets lots of rebounds, and he is a good playmaker for his position. He is already a great defensive player, being long and thin, plus his explosiveness and quick hands get him a lot of steals. His long arms and leaping ability would make him a good shotblocking guard, like D-Wade and MJ.

LamarButler touched on this, but when he's playing with Iverson he's not aggressive. When Iverson didn't play Iguodala had no problem going for his offense, he showed confidence and no hesistation.

Re: Iggy in his prime

In his prime, I could see numbers resembling these:

22 ppg/7 rpg/6 apg/2 spg/1 bpg with good shooting percentages.

Quite possibly the best all around player of all time or second to Oscar Robertson.

Re: Iggy in his prime

i think in his prime it will be about... 20 ppg, 8 rpg, 5 apg, 2 spg, 1.5 bpg. i'd love to see him outdo those numbers though, he's a stud.

The reason Iggy will not avg 16ppg next season, is b/c C'webb will demand his share of shots in the offense. If Cwebb is injured, we could see Iggy's scoring increase but I don't think it'll be next yr.

I see Iggy avg 12ppg and maxing out at 20.6ppg in his prime. He's an excellent rebounder and underated passer. His defense we all know is good and will only get better.

other prime stats: 8.2rpg, 5.6apg, and 2.8spg.
