NBADrafts, 6ers Team Needs

(PF, C, PG depth).
The Chris Webber trade was supposed to put the 76ers over the hump in the Atlantic Division. Webber was supposed to be the best teammate Allen Iverson had ever played with. Well...it hasn’t quite worked out like that, yet. Last season, Webber was noticeably hobbling and showed little of what made him a perennial All-Star. If he doesn’t heal up effectively, the Sixers will be desperate for more front-court help. Samuel Dalembert is sure to be one of the league’s most sought-after free agents, but Philly is hoping to retain him. Even with Dalembert and Webber, the Sixers still need another hard-nosed rebounder and post defender. Philly is already well over the salary cap, and they currently have no first round draft picks. Their lone pick (#45), could be used to draft troubled, but talented Maryland point guard John Gilchrist. He’s a physical marvel who would complement Iverson nicely. On the bright side, Iverson had one of his best seasons last year and rookie Andre Iguodala is an absolute stud. With a couple of savvy front-office moves and the return of the real C-Webb, new head coach Mo Cheeks could make a big splash in his highly-anticipated Philly return.

Re: NBADrafts, 6ers Team Needs
I'm surprised they absolutely left out the need for a starting caliber SF, I think that by far is the team's greatest need.

It was pretty obvious all season that the Sixers needed an athletic defending small forward, it didn't take many games to realize that.

Athletic? Because the two best defensive small forwards in the league, Artest and Bowen are such athletic studs arent they. They just need to run, run, run. Webbers better on a team that can keep the floor spread, and the easiest way to do that is flatten out the defense. Delambert can block shots and rebound, Webber is in a class of his own as a passing forward, and in Iverson you have the best "engine" you could ever want to drive a full court game. Korver fits well off the bench, as does Green.

Artest and Bowen might not be able to jump the highest, but physically Artest is dominating for his size and they both can keep going and going, they don't get tired which is another aspect of physical ability.

Re: NBADrafts, 6ers Team Needs
If you guys resign Dalembert, you won't have a problem with the center position.

Re: NBADrafts, 6ers Team Needs
Sixers do need a backup 4 but I would take the big guard/small forward first. Webber is a big what IF. Hopefully he can be healthy enough to gives up some consistent production.
Anybody want John Salmons?
