76ers' Salary Situation
Will the 6ers be able to use early Bird Rights on Green and Korver, resign Dalembert, and then use their MLE this offseason? Those 4 moves could couple 20 million dollars in payroll alone.
Combine that with the larger contracts of Webber, AI and Mashburn, lotta loot.

Re: 76ers' Salary Situation
We're already way over the cap anyways and management says they want to win now so why not? We're screwed cap wise for the next three to four years because of Iverson and Webbers's contracts so if we high roll we might as well high roll with no limits...

Re: 76ers' Salary Situation
Mashburn is covered 80% by insurance, so he's not a problem.
Korver and Green should be getting deals for three years, where the third season is team option, any more is troubling. I really hope they play it smart, the money they give out now doesn't mean anything, just as long as they aren't stuck paying them long term.
I like Willie and Kyle, but I also know in the long run these guys are really 6 - 9 guys off the bench, and not starters. That's not a bad thing, since all teams need quality reserves, just everyone doesn't need to overpay.

Couldn't agree more. I think Korver plays the best when he comes off the bench and starts shooting the lights out from behind the arch. When he starts, his defense (no matter how hard he tries) gets exposed and he tires too quickly. I really think the toil of starting caught up with him late this year. I can see Green as a Bobby Jackson type, coming off the bench to score, but not as a starter. Not a PG and too short and not enough like AI to be a SG, but could bring explosivness and scoring ability off the bench. Both are players that good tems need, but not starters.

Re: 76ers' Salary Situation
Agreeable, I think Kyle's defense is exceptional only if it comes off the bench, but his three point shooting I think that'll last regardless, the guy done a hell of a job for us coming off screens and firing shots we thought would go out of bounds into All-Net.
Haven't seen much of Green to decide but he takes contact he can penertrate, seems like Kyle Lowry (Villanova) to me, he shoots the three at an exceptional rate too, so him and Kyle Lowry aren't that far apart
