Sixers need draft pick
76ERS future depends on Offseason
Some eXpectations,Predictions, Laughs
for fans while Terrell Owens and the eagles put us through a world of misery.
Some 76er fans think the 76ers are done as
Long as they have Superb guard Allen Iverson. Some think Billy king was stupid in taking Chris Webber's ridicilous contract, while the 3 players needed to get him performed like they should've under O'brien. The fans are wrong at least up to this point, The 76ers' have made some perposterous moves in the past, but that's done now, the future is here, and it's that very future that will deterimine the road for the Franchise in the next 10 or 15 years. Such moves as
finding ways to Manage Iguodala's contract
as he develops into a pro, finding ways
to get below the Salary cap, so when the times right they can rebulid, Or perhaps getting that next big thing that can perpel us to 50 wins, whatever it is whatever star talent is out there in the future can be ours if we take care of this off-season as if it is our last. Fans think it's Important to get that first round draft pick for this year, Little do they know it's important for the future, little can we afford to draft the next Darko, that can equally be said for Carlos Defino and he was a talented shooting guard terribly misused by Larry brown. Sure there are no stars, and thus the fans want one but at this point we cannot afford nor do we need stars. In the long run the stardom must come second, for as long as we are on the road to getting the one that's in the All-Star game we cannot suceed. Did the Detroit Pistons not prove that point as they shut down our all-star Caliber penertrators Iggy, and Korver? They did and I wish to remind fans that they did so with no effort. Best Player Avaiable? In our minds we should be drafting one that shall help us and one that can contribute in some way other then making an "all-star" Apperance. This is sad but true NBA fans now know no knowledge of the situation in which we 76er fans are in, we need an first-round draft pick not for the next all-star not for the Next Emeka okafor without a dobut not for the next Darko, but for the next Piston squad that's without an all-star yet in the finals, let us learn a lesson from this 4-1 defeat, that a guy that averages 18.8 a game can be more domiant in the long run then the guy that averages 30.2 points a contest, I hope we learn from this lesson as does Billy king and get us a first rounder not only for this year, but for the deciding future of the Philadelphia 76ers organization.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
Iguodala and Korver are not 'All Star' caliber penetrators. We know we need a first round pick, but unfortunately we gave a lot up in trades years ago and we're paying for it now. Perhaps we are still pursuing Memphis' 19th pick, there will still be nice players around there.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
I really want that #19 pick. If it really is available for 3 million and a second round pick, I would jump at the chance. There could be some nice players there, especially if Taft, Villanueva, and Vazquez drop. If not, Petro would be nice, even though we already have Dalembert.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
If Hakim drops there, that'll be a steal along with Lous Williams (our 45th pick) I think we could have a very sucessfull draft.

If we get the #19 pick, we will lose our #45 pick. We will be getting only one pick in this draft unless we buy a draft pick somewhere.

If we somehow managed to get a first round pick I would prefer we bought it without giving up our second round pick. There are still some decent players left around the 45th pick.

We would all prefer to keep our pick, but the chances of that are slim to none. The Grizzilies want a second round pick and cash, and I don't think anyone has ever bought a first round pick on cash alone, since the max is 3 million. Unless you want to trade a future pick, which I am against.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
Nope not me give away next years second round pick? I'm fine with it because we don't have to be as desperate for a first round pick, and surely we'll have 1 or 2 players by then that can get another first rounder.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
Memphis came out a while back and said they aren't moving their first round pick. Anything's possible, but I doubt they'll sell it.
In this year's draft, we'll just have to deal with having the 45th pick and drafting the best player available.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
Totally agree with you here, Not many teams are willing to move down in the draft, not many teams willing to move up, BTW charlotte traded it's 10th pick to the Lakers, oh my god Next time let us consider my trade and talk king and Bernie bickerstaff into it.

That rumored was squashed earlier. There have been no such talks.

Re: Sixers need draft pick
Yeah I think the 45th pick is it. Hopefully we can find someone who can fill a need and help. A package deal for John Salmons and the 45th pick would be nice to move up. At least I wish it was deal available like that.
