Man, can you please stop with false rumors. Joe Dumars is a very smart man, he's not even looking in Jim O'Brien's direction.

I said there's a slight chance, there are not that many coaches left down the road he'll have to look at Jim O'brien, let's face it there fit best to run his scheme, big men that can run hopelessly according to Jimmy, wins world championships and gets them at least closer to it then they've ever been. At this Point they are desperate and need a coach that knows how to win.

If Larry leaves Detroit then I don't see any other elite coach going over to coach them. Flip seems to be taken by the Bucks and Nate is staying with the Sonics. It would be tough finding a good replacement for Brown if he leaves, maybe he will just promote one of the assistants.

Re: Chances are that Detroit could be interested in.
So you think if Larry Brown leaves on his own accord, no elite coach would want to coach the two time defending Eastern Conference Champions? I find that pretty hard to believe.

Re: Chances are that Detroit could be interested in.
Detroit fans are practically yelling Bill Laimbeer's name and he's coaching some girly squad. Mind me saying but there are no more pros left Nate's with the bucks Cheeks with the sixers, Jackson with the lakers, I don't know how old Auerbach is but if he were to come back, Maybe I would be scared of the Pistons but for now they look dead, deceased written useless.

Who else is out there? I'm not too sure on the coaching situations besides ours.

Re: Chances are that Detroit could be interested in.
Not many Kunlun, Flip Saunders? Tell me something Flip couldn't handle Latrell Spreewell and the wolves from howling for money what makes you think he'll suddently stop the Detroit Piston's aggrogance and taunts (game 6), I respect Laimbeer as being part of the bad boys, but honestly is there anything he can do at this point? There's only one Man left for the job other then a couple of assistants, and we know how that turned out (Gar heard and the Atlanta hawks coaching situation last year).
Weither Joe Dumars likes it or not, he's stuck with Obie.

Nate McMillan can't go anywhere (or talk to any team) until June 30th because that's when his contract expires so he's not going to the Bucks.
The Pistons have a pick of whoever they want, do people really think Flip Saunders would choose the Bucks over the Pistons? Especially since no one is going to hire him to be GM as well as a coach.
There are no Sprewells on the Pistons they are a veteran team that has good chemistry, and no players who are cancers. If Larry Brown leaves that team is a very desirable situation for people looking for head coaching jobs. Again, Jim O'Brien isn't even in the mix.

Re: Chances are that Detroit could be interested in.
Desperate people looking for a head coaching job, try as you may that isn't an argument there aren't many arguements left, Nate will stay most likely with Seattle, Flips into Milwaukee, I don't think that's a bad idea they have more overall talent then Minnesota at this point. Then Jackson and Cheeks with the Lakers and 76ers respectively Bill Laimbeer with his Detroit shock, has already DECLINED interest in rejoining the National basketballs association. Detroit has very few coachers out there that have been to the playoffs, or coached or has coached successful teams, look at it this way Roy williams declined an Invitation to the Lakers, that is perposterous to most however, that team was headed for a downhill as are these Pistons, I don't see them coming back any different any stronger, maybe a little weaker but not that much.
Prediction for Pistons:
45-37

Congratulations on your 100th post Sixerfanforlife. That was quick!
I think Detroit shouldn't have too much trouble finding a coach for them. But, I'm not sure who they could bring in because the 'big name' coaches are taken I think. Also, it would put pressure on the next coach to win next season because of the success this team has had previously so that may deter some coaches who would prefer a no pressure situation.

Re: Chances are that Detroit could be interested in.
Eric Musselman is still available to become someone's head coach, he's being slept on but I believe he'd be a candidate for the Pistons job were it to open up.
