Sixers moving radio telecasts to WPEN 950-AM
Quote:
The Sixers are moving from WIP 610-AM to WPEN 950-AM this season, according to sports industry sources.
WPEN broadcast the Phillies games from 2002-04. Many areas complained that it was difficult to listen to during night games.
Reportedly, WPEN will be increasing its power from 5,000 to 20,000 watts to alleviate that problem. The Phillies returned to WPHT 1210-AM this season.

Gives me one more reason to never have to listen to WIP. Which is always good news. Now if they'd only get Todd MacCullouch off as a color commentator, because Tom McGinnis is better by himself.

I couldn't agree with you more. Big Mac is horrible. I know they wanted to give him an opportunity but Tom McGinnis is better solo.
MacCullouch dry humor is hard to swallow.

I think MacCullouch would be better served as a big man's coach, or a studio guy for post game live. I mean he knows a good amount about basketball, it's just that he's slows down McGinnis.
McGinnis still does the color and play by play and then asks Big Mac to make a comment. I absolutely love McGinnis though he's a maniac.

Why not? MacCullouch was definitely a solid big man in the NBA, his main problem though was his lack of strength. If he didn't have the foot injury, there's a good chance he would've been the Sixers starter the past two seasons.
Also would you rather have no big man's coach?

Kind of off topic, but does anyone know a website I could listen to Sixers games for free? Thanks.

Nope, there's no place on the net for that.

WIP-AM (610) will remain the radio home of the 76ers.
Their deal is a multiyear one, though neither the station nor the team would say how many years the contract is for.

Funny how things change in 11 days.

Yes, Sports Radio 610 WIP is now online. You can listen to them at their website at 610wip.com. They will be carrying the Sixer games.
