Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
Dallas is rumored to release Finley due to the new amnesty rule which allows teams to waive a player to avoid a luxury cap hit. The team is still responsible for paying the player salary. Would it be worthwhile to pursue Finley who can play the SG/SF? A starting lineup of AI, Iggy, Finley, Webber & Dalembert sounds intriguing. I know he is 32 and has declined a bit, but he is still a good player. Since he will still be getting the 51 million left on his contract, he may sign for the mid level exemption. Just throwing it out there to see what everyone thinks.

Re: Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
I think this is a situation like the Webber trade where it seems like a pretty easy decision, picking up a former all-star while losing little to nothing, but prob isn't worth it. Obviously Finley's skills have declined a good amount or else Dallas wouldn't even be thinking about dropping him. Sure, Marquis Daniels and Josh Howard are good but I don't think they compared to Finley at his best. Picking up Finley would only add tons of cash against the cap and clog us up even further at the 2/3 spot already filled with long term players in Iggy, Mckie, Green, K.Korver, and Salmons. 99% sure it won't happen and if BK does make this move, I will officially cross the picket line to the anti-BK grouping...

Re: Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
I think this all depends on how much we would have to pay him if like he said Finley was willing to sign at a cheaper level i think it would be a great pick up not so much as to count on him as a starter but more like what Mckie did for us during our finals run he proved last year that even towards the end of the season you could count on him to make the outside shots i think he would be a valuable player to get good minutes off the bench especially if Korver is having a rough game or two like he did in the playoffs but once again i think it all depends on how much we can get him for if he wants a lot it wouldnt be a good pickup at all

Re: Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
Finley still has at least 2 good seasons left in him, but at this point I really like the group of guys that Philly has. I want to see Willie Green develop and Iggy to really blossom. Korver showed that he's a crossover dribble and mini low post game away from being a true starter, so a lot can be done with the guys we have without killing the cap.

Re: Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
How much better would this Sixers team be if you added Michael Finley? My opinion is.. not very.
I see him going to a team that's more ready to compete for a title than the Sixers, and if not there's a great chance he'll go play for his hometown team the Bulls.

Are you serious? First of all, the salary would be a ton less than what Webber makes. Second, he would not be depended on as a top option (3rd at best). Who says you have to sign him to a long term deal? With the attention AI and maybe C-Webb would get, Finley can definitely do some damage. I don't see him being passive like many other Sixers players do with AI on the floor. Even Korver coming off the bench allows him to play less minutes making him more effective. He wouldn't be overextended. I know it may be somewhat of a long shot for him to come to Philly, but he could only help and I do believe the Sixers would be better. Sorry, I'm not sold on Korver. I would feel better knowing we have a guy that can give us consistency.

He's too old to keep up with this team, IMO.

Re: Michael Finley - Worth the pickup?
Depends how much you play him. With the depth we have at his spot, we dont need him for 30+.
