Sixers trade Marc Jackson to NJ
Nets Receive:
Marc Jackson
76ers Receive:
New Jersey's 2006 Second Round Pick
Cash
Good deal for both teams. The Sixers needed to cut cap and after they cut Jamal Mashburn's contract as part of the amnesty provision (which I assume they will), they won't be paying very much in luxury taxes.

Re: Sixers trade Marc Jackson to NJ
So this means we get their trade exception right? If so, this is a good move, because that would give the Sixers the trade exception as well as Mashburn to deal later on. But this team would have even less size in the front court, and it helps strengthen a division rival.

Also the Sixers won't cut Mashburn with the amnesty provision, his contract expires in March. They'll most likely cut Aaron McKie or Kevin Ollie with the amnesty provision.

Love the trade.
1. Shareef isn't going to NJ, the trade was rescinded
2. They got rid of a fairly huge amount of cap room, they can sign a big man who's just as good(Hunter) for less, plus have a draft pick.
3. They can still waive someone else.

Re: Sixers trade Marc Jackson to NJ
Actually it's Marc Jackson & Cash considerations for future draft considerations. I liked what I saw from Marc this past season and I'm glad we picked him up from you guys. Anything to say about him? What did you like, what didn't you like? I know you had to like his mid range game, I liked that play you guys ran for him.

Exactly man.. Marc Jackson was somewhat of a scorer for the Philadelphia 76ers.. whenever they ran the pick and roll and gave the ball to Marc Jackson he usually would nail the mid-range jumper..
