Wow isn't this a little over the top? I mean yes, who would be that stupid to throw a coin at an immensely famous basketball player, but who would also send that guy to jail for five days?

i'm with the guy above me. I love AI, I hate Detroit, but throwing a coin does not warrant 5 days of jail time. judging from previous instances i can understand why this happened, but still. this is ridiculous.

uh regardless throwing a coin does not warrant 5 days and certainly would not warrant more if Iverson pressed charges. If I got mad at you, threw a quarter at you, and you contacted the police they'd probably laugh at you if you said 'HE THREW A QUARTER AT ME!!!!!!' it was only so big because of the circumstances between Detroit and Indiana, and that was overhyped by the media to begin with.

EDIT: also to the kid above, i don't think it's funny to joke about people being raped in jail, and the odds are if you truly experience life at some point you are going to be possessing jail time, and i think kids who post at internet message boards are slightly more likely to get raped in jail than that guy, who seemed pretty big. Sorry if this seems like a bait, but that comment was just tasteless. If the mods want to delete this they certainly can.

Well considering you used the coin as a weapon, and that's domenstic assult.

Plus he had once been on prohabition.

Those are reason enough for the court of law to sentence this man to a penetly for his actions.

yeah it could be a weapon, but i doubt anyone would consider it as such. If some average Joe called the police and said "THIS GUY JUST THREW A COIN AT ME!!!" they would not dispatch an officer in 90% of towns. I'm not sure how probation laws work in Michigan but in Pennsylvania if that man was truly on probation his sentence would have been much more than 5 days.

The guy should have gotten a fine since obviously they had to arrest someone to send a message. overall it's bull**** and only a big deal because of Basketbrawl.
