Sixer Fan Preseason Analysis
Since we have so many new players on this team. This thread is for you guys living in Philly and those of you who have access to NBA TV to update the rest of us on the progress of the new players like:
Steven Hunter, Lee Nailon, Steve Castleberry, Deng Gai, Louis Williams, Ime Udoka, and James Thomas.
Tell us how they did in the games, while also giving your analysis of the team, it's defense, the bench, team strengths and weaknesses, who will make the team, and can we win the division, etc...
My first question is will AI and Iggy have to play 43 minutes a game now that there is no A. Mckie and W. Green. Our back up guards consist of John Salmons, Kevin Ollie, and a rookie unknown(?). Will Billy King make a trade for a reliable back up guard? *Pray both AI's can stay healthy if he doesn't.*
I read somewhere that Lee Nailon has a good offensive game but his defense is like a hole in the ozone layer. Just from what I read, I get the impression that he's another Marc Jackson type player... am I right?
How is the kid Louis Williams doing? Will he make the team or is he going to the NBDL?
When Webber plays, can someone give an update on how his knees look? Can he jump, does he look like he's finally healthy?
Let's keep this thread alive with some good preseason Sixer talk and news...

Re: Sixer Fan Preseason Analysis
Good post alleninsf, too many people on this board post about players and their "weakness" and "strengths" without actually watching them play, but just reading scouting reports or what they hear.
So can all the fans who actually watch the game give people who does not have access to the games an unbiased report of our new players ?
Go 76ers !

Lee Nailon's looking good so far.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

Re: Sixer Fan Preseason Analysis
Damn, I wish I could see the games.
AI looks like he's in midseason form. Typical numbers from Korver. With no Sammy and Webber, I want to see Iggy get more involved in the offense.
I like Salmons numbers against Cleveland. I hope he can give us that consistently off the bench.

Re: Sixer Fan Preseason Analysis
Report from New York game;
C-Steve Castleberry get waived already I don't know what is keeping cheeks so long but he simply doesn't help either end of the floor, and is a waste of a 7'0 frame.
Pg-Louis Williams needs work, alot of it. His free throw stance is terrible. His 18 foot jumper is okay, but otherewise needs to demand the basketball consistantly and drive into the Paint.
Sf-John Salmons had an very aggressive game, and has been putting up the numbers, why the only games he didn't impress were Houston and San Antonio.
C-Steven Hunter, He's been some-what aggressive, but he got in foul trouble against New York and I question if he can perform Tuesday Night.
