76ers finally turning the corner?

Alright, I don't post much on this board but I have watched a couple of 76ers games now. I was started to noticed that Andre Iggy is going to become a big time player in this league. I mean he probably won't be a superstar, but he will be a really good player. As well Kyle Kover has shown that he does deserve that contract. I mean yes 5 million dollars is a lot of money and it would have been nicer to get him at 2.5-3.5, however he has developed into a lot better rebounder and is a great passer. He is a horrible defender, however his 3 point shooting and great IQ has made the 76ers look good. As well, Sam is looking really good from him returning. Now do you guys think you can do some damange? I mean if Kyle, Iggy and Sam all do what they do best. Then I think the 76ers can do a lot more damage then people think they can. Iverson is almost always going to be amazing especially in the playoffs. As long as Webber isn't throwing up 18 foot jump shots everytime then I think you guys can do well.

Im not of the bunch that think that Korver is a horrible defender. Think early Matt harpring almost. He was an avg defender. Hustled. I view Korver in that mold. he works hard. He just does not get burned the way some make it out to be

True. I shouldn't have said horrible defender sorry. Its not that he doesn't want to be a great defender, its that he has not so great athletisms + foot speed. Which leads to him being very slow.

Re: 76ers finally turning the corner?

I have a hard time finding another player with similar attributes to Korver. His shooting really sets him apart. I really wish the team would use CWebb in the halfcourt and just have him and Kyle work off of each other for extended periods of time.

I'm not a fan of his defense though. It has improved and he is a solid defender, but it seems everytime the other team has an open look it is Korver's man. Kyle will collapse to play help defense on a drive and then can't get back out on the shooter quickly enough to contest shots. He makes up for his lack of athleticism with a good bball IQ, but he should really try to improve his quickness.

Also, he really, really, really, really, really needs to develop a jab step and put the ball on the floor anytime a defender bodies up on him on the perimeter. Instead he will get bodied up, hold the ball over his head and look for a pass. He needs to learn how to create better if he's going to score points in the playoffs.

He is one of the only guys on the team that can see a play develop and will get into position to take the charge, for example. He isn't as athletic as Wally Sczerbiak, so it's good to see him out hussling other players.

Interesting stat this season is something like the Sixers are 10-0 when Kyle has 10 pts or more. The guy is earning his contract this year. Now he needs to improve so he can be a factor in the playoffs, where the Sixers will need him.
