The sixers should try to be like the suns(raptors?)
They have the super athletic wings in carney and iggy
They have the 3 pt specialist in Korver
They have the tall and athletic centre in Dalembert
They have a PF that is a good passer who can do many things in Webber(if he can run with the team)
They have a prolific PG who can be a very good passer when motivated to do so in AI
The only real question is AI's pg resposibilities, but seriously, He would start passing more if he knew it would help the team win...

Fastbreak starts from defense.

More like rebounding, but the sixers don't have much of either.

Re: The sixers should try to be like the suns(raptors?)
Both defense and rebounding create fast breaks. There is at least three problems:
1) Our super athletic wings aren't verasitile enough to step out and hit the three so opponents wouldn't respect them. That mean that we would not be able to create the lanes and spacing that the Suns offense has.
2) Webber and Korver are slow as balls.
3) We play no defense and are sloppy with the ball. The Suns have Nash to control the ball and not turn it over.

Because of Korver and Webber you couldn't consistently run, but you can run in stretches.
I think the fact that defenses wouldn't respect our wings would work as a positive for what the Sixers have. Players weren't always respecting Raja Bell's three point shot, but he got open looks because people didn't respect it, and even when they respected it.. they couldn't get out in time.

Pretty much sumbs it up... oh and I must say Suns have great coach who has tons of experience with up tempo game and I'd say he is really big part in theire success. Heck he basicly brought this style back...

If our offense centers around Rodney Carney and Iggy shooting threes (even if they are open) it wont be a pretty year, tho I doubt anyone is expecting a pretty year.

maybe not pretty but i dont see why we couldnt have a pretty decent year i mean we were having a pretty good year until we fell off at the end of the season. We are not AS BAD as half of you make it out to be.

Who said it would be built around Carney and Iggy shooting threes? The Suns weren't built around Raja shooting threes, they were built around Steve Nash's playmaking ability.

Re: The sixers should try to be like the suns(raptors?)
You know what the screwed up thing is, Iverson could be a really good point guard if he put his mind to it. The thing is he is only focused on scoring and hasn't realised that he can't score the 76ers to the playoffs. He really needs to take more of a back seat and look to actually make players around him better. The only time I think Iverson should try to take over the game is when everyone around him isn't playing well, but still that shouldnt be the case if he plays a more pass 1st game. Trust me Iverson has the speed, the shot ability and the tools to be a very good pass 1st PG. The thing is his mental state still hasn't developed into looking to be more effective without scoring.

I dont believe all teams in the East got better, I see Chicago as the main team standing out, besides that I dont see any team that has really improved since last year

I don't think Iverson should become a pass first PG, but if he looked to pass more it'd help I guarantee it.
