76ers roster evaulation

Forwards/Centers:

Samuel Dalembert: The 6'11-7'0 Center out of
international basketball will be entering his
4th full season (6th overall) with the 76ers.
Having been drafted in 2000-2001, Dalembert
has been injured for the early part of his
career and has continued to be the story of
his career, entering last year. playing in
only 66 of the 82 game season (to his credit
started 52). If Dalembert, truly wants his
starting-role back, he'll need to develop a
more flourished offensive game, not foul
out as much and get inside the weight room.
Billy King, once again is depending on this
big guy to take them to the championship rounds.
He has all the reasons to believe in Dalembert.

Chris Webber: Entering his 13th season in the
NBA (2nd with the 76ers), Chris Webber will look
to duplicate his numbers of 20/10, but perhaps
the biggest improvement Webber will be looking
to make, is getting inside the post a little bit
more. If you evaulate the season closely,
Andre Iguodala wasn't able to get to the basket
in the half-court game, as much as we would like
him to, believe it or not, but Webber can make
Iggy a better player, by staying in the low-post,
passing the basketball, and getting Igg's touches
around the basket. If Chris Webber becomes
a distributor, we become a better team, that
simple.

Steven Hunter: Last year's top signing, F-C
Steven Hunter, will look to progress after
being given the nod by 76ers coach Maurice
Cheeks over the last few games. Steven
Hunter was once the guy I laughed at, for failure
to rebound, if anything else. But lately
he's been getting better at that, and of course
who can forget the garbage buckets he was able
to pick up during the very few games he started.
Hunter's athletic ability and shotblocking skills
will prove useful. I'm hoping for more improvement
out of him,he's IMO one of our best prospects.

Small Forwards/Shooting Guards:

Andre Iguodala:Andre Iguodala, had a "breakout" year
of 12 PPG and 5 rebounds. But it actually was a
downgrade for Iggy. He had to do so much
work offensively (fans, do you really want Iggy
to score 20 PPG?) that he was an average defender.
(again, this is averaging 12 PPG, if he
averages 20 PPG...). Iguodala is one of the highest
rated prospects on the 76ers, but he'll have
alot of doubt from me this upcoming season

Rodney Carney: 76ers 1st round draft pick (16th
overall) Memphis's all-time leading scorer,
3pt shooter. Carney comes in labeled as
Iguodala's clone and for the most part, their
games are similar, but Carney's more explosive
stronger, and a better shooter. He'll be a
good running mate for Iguodala this season.

Bobby Jones: 76ers 2nd round pick from timberwolves
Bobby Jones is coming in, to be the defensive
G-F for the 76ers. Bobby Jones has gotten
Pre-season praise from 76ers coach Maurice Cheeks
but I've hardly expected anything out of him,
he like Rodney Carney, is Washington's all-time
3pt shooting leader, as well as averages over 1 thousand
points.

Kyle Korver: a 76ers 2nd round draft choice
Kyle Korver is turning out to be the steal of
the LeBron draft, his 3pt shooting and
desire has made him one of my favorite 76ers.
He's bound to come off the bench this season,
but not to his fault, I'll blame it on King.
There should be a place for Korver. A 5 year
contract on the bench, screw King.

Point Guards:

Allen Iverson: The 76ers 1st overall draft choice
in 1996, the answer looks to put up productive
season #11th for philly. After a horrible ending
to the season, Iverson will be counted on to
direct the ship, bring the team together and
make us better. Many fans (Coatesvillian and
Beez) have critized Allen due to his attitude.
Well, let's see if AI can pull us together,
if he can, I just can't wait to see these 2
big-bad posters squirm.

Louis Williams: the 76ers 2nd round pick in
2005, 76ers 1st year pro Louis Williams will
be looking to get himself higher in the rotation
for the Philadelphia 76ers. His explosiveness
and athletic ability needs coaching. He'll
be compeiting against (but not limited too)
Andre Iguodala,Iverson,Ollie for minutes.
Again, another star limited by Billyh King.

Kevin Ollie: 76ers veteran Kevin Ollie will
be looking to provide some voice in the locker
room with fellow 76ers veteran Alan Henderson
Ollie, entering his 10th season (4th with the 76ers)
was a starter last-season with Allen Iverson
in the backcourt. Needless to say, such
a small back-court won't work this year,
and probably won't be seen for much longer.
(Iggy and AI is my projected back-court)

If Ollie provides a class-act, then I've gotten
what I wanted from him.

Re: 76ers roster evaulation

Wow. This is really, really good. And it sticks to people you know about. Not that I agree with all of it, but good job.

Re: 76ers roster evaulation

You forgot some players. Did you do this on purpose or is that coming later? No Willie Green and Shav Randolf.
