Who will the Sixers take with their 2nd round pick
The Sixers dont have a 1st round draft pick because they like to give them away for everyone else's scraps. This draft has tons of talent and who do you think they will take with they're number 50 slot.
Troy Bell
Zoran Plannicic
Jerome Beasley
Kyle Korver-hey he can shoot it
What do you guys think???

I am thinking Estill is a possibilty just because he is big, has college experience, and seems like an LB guy to me... I dont really like him because he doesn't have the height, but he was dominant against college playeres, but they are just college players.
Chris Marcus is another big guy that could fall to us, heck last year he was almost predicted top 5, sure he is probably a stiff, but he is intriguing to pass up on, could be a healthy Todd Mac someday.
Brian Polk, we arent in an ideal cap situation right now, so we Larry may do somethings here. One go foriegn and let a player develop much like the Nets did , (Nene Kristic , who put up 28 12 going against Darko) or help out a Temple guy get a job. I dont see Brian as an NBA player, but we could draft him and let him play preseason, we helped out Cheaney with Rollerson why not Polk

Kristic was a 1st rounder though. it might be a hidden jewel from overseas available in the 2nd round so its possible. I hate Estill, we need SIZE or shooting or more scoring or athletes. Hell I wish one of these high schoolers fall to 50

Yea, the high schoolers are always intriguing. I wish I could have seen more of Cisse last year, I had high hopes for him. We could always trade up into the 2nd looking for guys like Perkins or Powell, its alwasy tough to take a high school guy inthe 2nd though. How many have been successful?

IF any HSer falls to us, I'd take him. If not, I'd look to get a guy like Jason Keep. Keep can be a great center off the bench for us IMO, and can give us an occasional start.

From what I've read, I think Jerome Beasley would be a nice pick up, and a nice pick for the Sixers. He seems to be a guy who can produce in spurts next year much like Alvin Jones did his rookie season..
And just a question, any chance we can get Jones back from Europe at the minimum for a player with one year experience and let him play? I like him better than Skinner, he'd be great for the team, if he could stay out of foul trouble.

I don't know if Beasley will drop to #50. Memphis is scouting him for their #27 pick. If he falls into the 2nd round, I'd bet he'd be taken earlier than #50. Also, I don't know about Alvin. I like Skinner much more. All Alvin Jones really did when he came in was foul, and foul some more.

But Alvin was never scared like Skinner tends to get, and Alvin was a solid man on man post defender. I remember seeing Eddy Curry try to work against him, only to get his shot smacked back into next week like three times. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to bring the guy over would it? He'd be inexpensive, and we really need some help in the big positions.

Sixers should pick korver
I like Troy bell and think he has first round talent, but when I look at the sixers I think... we could use a pure shooter. Kyle Korver is the best shooter in the draft. HE reminds me of a shorter version of Dirk in his rookie season . He can shoot outstanding and has some size for his position, but needs to work on his d and bulk up.
He could give the sixers a good backup front court player who can shooot. Id rather see him coming in at small than Mckie, and that way Mckie can play gaurd more. Also eventualy he could replace soft Van Horn. But can u imagine Bell and AI on the court at the same time thier would be 2 players who are amazing scorers. All I know is when I look at Korver I go :eek.
As long as we draft one of the 2 and resign Coleman, Skinner and Thomas I guarantee a Conference Finals appearance.
Also the trade for Kenny Thomas was the best trade the sixers have made in a while considering they traded Tim Thomas for tyrone hill and others and they traded Motumbo for just van horn and Macullah and they traded this years first for moiso then immidiately traded him, lynch, and others for D.C, who I love, but his careers almost over.
Raja Bell and Bruce Bowen have been impact players in the playoffs that the sixers let go. Raja's a free agent so the sixers should try and get him back.

Re: Sixers should pick korver
With all the movement thats gone on and guys moving up and down the draft list do you have any of you changed your thoughts on who they should take or are you staying put with your selection?

It doesnt really look as if any high schoolers will fall to us, so I would go for somebody who can step in and play right now. I see Josh Howard all over the place on mocks, but I could defintiely see him in a 76er uniform.
