Iverson not happy with losses

Quote:
"I loved our effort," Cheeks said after the game.

But when asked whether he liked the Sixers' effort as well, Allen Iverson spit out a "no" as if he had just found something strange in his cheeseburger.

"Look, I'm not trying to be an ***, I promise you," Iverson said in the visiting locker room at Staples Center before getting three stitches in his chin courtesy of an accidental elbow by Corey Maggette on Maggette's drive to the hoop. "But I don't care nothing about that.

"I don't care who you're playing against, if you're playing a little rec-league team. The effort is supposed to be there every night. So it's not a big thing for me. To say, 'Yeah, we gave effort' or whatever, you're supposed to give effort. But when you go out and play basketball, you're supposed to win the basketball game.

"If you're satisfied the effort that you give, then some positive things are supposed to happen, and the most positive thing that can happen is to win... . You don't pay nobody a million dollars, a whole bunch of money, then not give effort."

Iverson, who played more than 49 minutes but needed 31 shots to score 29 points, was unhappy the Sixers "switched up what we were doing" after racing out to a 16-point first-quarter lead. When asked specifically what happened, he said he didn't want to start "a whole bunch of bullcrap."

I haven't even seen 1 sixer game yet this yr, so I don't want to speculate but from the looks of this, it appears that Iverson isn't happy with the play of Dalembert. Is that the case or am I just reading too much into this?

..and he was quoted as saying this too:

"They are a great basketball team," Iverson said. "They have what you need to win in this league. They have a grown man playing power forward [Brand]. They have young talent, leadership in Sam Cassell, a great pickup in Tim Thomas, players who know their role, and an effective center."

Sammy played 36 minutes and only had 3 rebounds. As a team, we were outrebounded 49-33 by the Clips.

Re: Iverson not happy with losses

Maybe he is. Bet if we trade Dalembert he goes 10 and 10 though.

In the same context "an effective center" might be a polite way of saying that chris kaman is not very good but does his job, iverson has never been the most subtle of guys so i would`nt think he would be too shy about calling out dalambert(or anyone else) publicly if that was his opinion
