Larry Brown Returning as Sixers Head Coach?
Quote:

Speaking of ex-NBA head coaches, the scuttlebutt around the league is that Larry Brown definitely wants to coach again and perhaps even this season. Brown will undoubtedly have pick of the litter. One of Brown’s associate said he wouldn’t rule out Brown coaching anywhere – including Milwaukee – but believes the Philadelphia 76ers would be Brown’s first choice if that team founders.

Well, it looks like Brown is once again interested in coaching. I guess I wouldn't mind him back in Philly, but I wouldn't give him a large contract considering his age and health problems. I am a bit scepticle at how his coaching philosphy will effect this team (see Knicks). But either way, he couldn't be any worse than Mo Cheeks

I doubt it happens. If they trade A.I. alot of youth would be coming back in return. We know how Larry loves young players...

If AI leaves, forget it. I wouldn't rule out the Nets or Clippers.

I think I'm the only guy on this board who's been hoping for LB's return for the past year. If an 11th hour deal could be worked out to get LB, maybe AI would stay and we'd actually have a decent coach.

I would welcome it. He's proven he's a good coach. But like someone said earlier, I would in no way sign him to a multi year contract.

Re: Larry Brown Returning as Sixers Head Coach?
Either way you look at it, Larry Brown can't do any more worse of a job than Mo Cheeks has already done. I'm positive that after his short stint with the New York Knicks, it made him more humble, and he may not be that stubborn about giving young players playing time and etc. I think after his coaching stint with the Knicks, Brown will be more open-minded and may switch up his coaching philosophy just a tad bit. Either way, like I said, the guy can't possibly be any worse than Mo Cheeks

That's like giving M&Ms to a person dying on the battlefield.

I don't expect him to have changed at all. It's not like he's a young developing coach. I'm sure after all the years he's been in it, he's pretty set in his ways.

And I agree, there's no way, and no reason, we keep AI at this point

The rumors of Larry Brown's return continue to grow. It was made publicly known that LB helped BK with the AI deal. Now it comes out that LB has been attending 76ers practice for a while now. Maybe at least our prayers to see Mo Cheeks replaced will come true.

Re: Larry Brown Returning as Sixers Head Coach?
I'm being dead serious.. if Larry Brown comes back to coach the Sixers, I'm done. It'll drop the number of Philly teams I really watch and support to one.
This guy is the main reason the Sixers are in the position they are right now. It was him who put Billy King in this position of authority.
