Philadelphia 76ers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Quote:
The 76ers are tied for the most road losses in the NBA with 16 and are 2-4 on their season-high seven-game trip. The road weary squad held Utah to 34 percent shooting in the first half Wednesday, but couldn't keep up that defensive pressure en route to a 98-87 defeat.
"In the second half, I thought they got a lot of easy baskets and wore us down," 76ers coach Maurice Cheeks said. "We looked a little tired in the second half, but I liked our game."
The Sixers are also enjoying Andre Miller's game. The point guard was acquired along with Joe Smith on Dec. 19 in the trade that sent Allen Iverson to Denver, and is averaging 15.6 points, 8.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds in seven games with Philadelphia.
"Andre Miller fits in good because he's a point guard, something we need," Cheeks said. "He understands the game; he's helping our young guys out."
Smith had 13 points Wednesday in his second consecutive start for the Sixers, who are 4-5 since trading Iverson.
Philadelphia forward Chris Webber has been inactive for four games with a bruised foot, while Timberwolves guard Marko Jaric is probable after missing back-to-back contests due to a jammed thumb.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
You never know. The sixers have gotten just good enough that they might win enough to drastically hurt their future.

We need to trade Andre Miller. The guy is too good. He's hurting our chances for the top pick!

Yep, but its the situation they're in. It's time to focus on the solution, not the problem.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Seems like this was a really good game. They really are better than their record indicates.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Hence, the trade of Andre Miller. Fact is fact, Kyle Korver, Andre Iguodala and even Dalembert are getting alot better and could steal some more games. I'd say 24-30, 3rd to 5th overall pick in the draft. If you don't mind not getting Oden, then keep Miller, Iguodala, Korver, Dalembert developing into solid pieces will be crucial for rebuliding.

I agree. All this team is lacking is chemistry. I think the pieces are there for us to be competitive.
I just read that we're trying to negotiate a buyout of Webber's contract.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Well, Sixers lose at the buzzer in OT. I really hope this team doesn't do anything stupid like somehow making it as the 8th seed in the playoffs and getting eliminated in 4 quick and easy games to Detroit. Then we will lose our first round pick since it is lottery protected
