Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
Quote:
The Mavericks will put their streak on the line against Philadelphia (17-34), which has won six of its last 11 games. Before that stretch, the 76ers had lost 29 of their last 36 games.
Philadelphia is coming off a 90-89 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. The 76ers blew a 13-point third-quarter lead and missed some golden opportunities late in the fourth quarter, including a missed layup by Samuel Dalembert with one minute to play.
"Unfortunately for us, Sam missed that layup that could have put us up at the end of the wire," coach Maurice Cheeks said.
Despite the loss, the 76ers are optimistic for the first time in a long time.
"I knew we were going to have a shot at the end, and we did," Kyle Korver said after Friday's loss. "That's a lot different feeling than we had a month ago."
Andre Iguodala had 22 points and seven assists against Los Angeles. He has led the 76ers in scoring in each of their last nine games, averaging 24.2 points, 7.6 assists and 6.0 rebounds in that stretch. In five career games against Dallas, however, Iguodala has averaged 11.8 points and 3.4 assists.
The 76ers are 2-2 on their season-high seven-game homestand, with each loss coming by one point. Only Boston has fewer home wins than the 76ers, who are 9-13 at the Wachovia Center.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
Looking forward to this one, this is a perfect test for this young team. Also Iguodala Vs Howard should be a nice matchup.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
Sixers were down big time at one point, as many as 30 points as the Mavs jumped to a big lead in the second and continued into the fourth. As it is right now the Sixers have cut the lead down to 13 points and have momentum, I'm loving how they are trying to fight back. They are a scrappy bunch.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
Damn..
Sixers had it all the way down to eight points after an Iguodala drive and free throw, two Jason Terry jumpers have stretched the lead back to 12 points.
The entire game changed when Cheeks inserted Louis Williams and not long after he was put into the game he stole a pass from Devin Harris intended for Dirk and took it the length of the court for a score. What I really like about Williams is his first step, when he doesn't try to be too pretty and penetrates it's hard to defend against his first step.
Iguodala isn't having the best game shooting, but he's adjusted by driving.. he has four dunks, and a layup.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
It was fun seeing the run to get back into the game, but the Mavs are too good. They got their legs back and the Sixers group that made the run at the end of last quarter are still there. The lead is back up to 17.
Sixers need to make a substitution, to try and make one last run to make this a game.
Jason Terry is an absolute killer tonight during this stretch.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
I mean, it's in a losing effort but that Andre Iguodala dunk has to be a Sportscenter highlight.
It started with Green intercepting a Nowitzki pass and taking it down the court, he goes for a layup which is almost blocked by Josh Howard. The ball careens off the rim and Iguodala catches it one handed arm cocked back and he slams it home. Real dope.
Willie Green finally got off his recent cold streak, but he requires way too many dribbles to get his shots. It's like there's too much wasted motion and time for him, and he's way too streaky. He's fine as a bench player though.

Re: Philadelphia 76ers vs Dallas Mavericks
Funny that once I post that Willie Green tries to catch and shoot and airballs badly.. lol.
It's 100-88 right now with 1:24 with the Mavericks throwing in their backups, this game is over. It's been that way forever, but now it's more official. Good rally, but it clearly wasn't enough against the best team in the league.
