Did Iggy's emergence Help the Sixers 2008 Draft
To me, i was thinking the 76ers were destined to be in the Durant/ODen hunt at midseason. However, they went on a tear at the end of the year to get the 12th pick if im not mistaken. At the 12th pick, it is unlikely there will be an IMPACT guy that would put significant changes to the win column.
With a team of :
pg-Miller
sg- AI
SF- Korver
PF-Smith
C- Dalembert
it is unlikely that this team wins more then 25 games.
I just cant see it. especially with all the young teams like the Celtics getting Pierce/Durant to the equation. The Bobcats could be Damn good soon (if they took a guy like Brewer their team defense would be insane with Felton,Brewer,Wallace, Emeka, C.
I think the Sixers along with the Sonics will be the worst team in the NBA next year. The consequences of that is that the Sixers could get their next Iverson like scorer in OJ Mayo or Their next great point guard in Derrick Rose
What do you sixers fans think?

Well Derrick Rose is the www.nbadraft.net number one prospect. OJ Mayo is the number one prospect on Draftexpress. so you could go in either direction.
Do you think the sixers are goign to be a top3 bad team

Re: Did Iggy's emergence Help the Sixers 2008 Draft
The sixers ended this season with over 30 wins even with all the negativity at the beginning of their season. While the schedule won't be as easy down the stretch this year, I doubt they'll get much worse.

Wow.......I hadn't realized the Sixers climbed all the way to the 12th spot. That's just ****.

What do you mean 12th spot? Is that our draft position if we don't hit #1? I mean, we still have a shot at #1, don't we?

They have a chance about under one percent to get a top 3 pick, so it's basically the 12th spot, yes.

.
Yes, and we also have a (greater) chance of falling to 13 or 14.
Would you guys trade the other two picks to move up in the draft?

Yeah, I think I would. If there's any draft to get a great pick in, it's this one. I'm hoping the Sixers just luck out and land a top-2 pick, because Oden or Durant would be wondeful, but that's very unlikely. Actually, is there players in this draft that any of you feel could be franchise level players outside of Oden and Durant?

Re: Did Iggy's emergence Help the Sixers 2008 Draft
If you trade up you're not going to get into the top half of the top ten. I say stand pat and see what you can get because there will be value there. I'm starting to really like the idea of getting Thaddeus Young because I feel he has the potential to be great.
I don't want any part of Al Thorton with that pick though, that would turn my stomach.

We have a greater chance of getting #1 than falling to #13 or #14 because our odds to win the lottery are greater than the teams who have the #13 or #14 picks.

Re: Did Iggy's emergence Help the Sixers 2008 Draft
As i`ve stated repeatedly if we were left with the 12 and 21 picks (top 25 only included) then if available i`d take Thaddeus Young at 12 and Javaris Crittendon at 21
I dont think crittendon will be available at 21 tbh but if he is i would grab him
Anybody who is pinning their hopes on drafting a guy and having him come in and make the team contenders is kidding themselves.
i could have told cheeks and king that rodney carney was a bogus pick and will never amount to a damn thing, considering their draft history we`ll probably end up with joakim noah and al thornton
(before anyone says "they drafted igoudala" ..he fell in their lap !!,how he dropped to no 9 defies belief)
