He got alot of heat from all of us when he coached, but the truth is, he took the team to 45 wins, and Cheeks could only get the same team to 36. Plus, Cheeks had a healthier webber, and a better Iggy and Korver. I think he got made into a scapegoat for a team that lacked talent.

Welcome to the off-season of 2004-05. What you're saying was damn near the popular opinion on this forum when the move went down. As I recall while no one was satisfied with O'Brien, I don't think anyone liked the idea of Cheeks as the replacement.

My only problem with O'Brien back then was him not playing Dalembert especially all the potential we saw from him the 2nd half of the year before Ob became the coach.
