Mike Gminski, a former 76ers center who spent 14 seasons in the NBA, has been contacted by Comcast SportsNet as a possible successor to Steve Mix as the analyst on Sixers telecasts.
"This was really preliminary," Gminski confirmed by telephone from his home in Charlotte, N.C. "They asked if I were interested, and I said I'd love to talk. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'm wide open."
Gminski recently completed his third 2-year contract as a college basketball analyst for Fox Sports, primarily covering Atlantic Coast Conference games. He has been planning to continue in that role.
Comcast SportsNet has been searching for an analyst since deciding not to renew the contract of Mix, also a former Sixers player.

I know Gminski is a former Sixer and all, but I hope they can make this one happen..

Add longtime NCAA and former New Jersey Nets analyst Bill Raftery to the list of people contacted by Comcast SportsNet as a potential successor to Steve Mix as the Sixers' TV analyst. Raftery, a onetime star guard at La Salle, is recovering from hip-replacement surgery. *
Raftery doing Sixers games? Man, that would be a dream come true.

Raftery is the best in the biz. If he goes to the Sixers, I'll miss him on college hoops but it would still be a win. Gminski is pretty good, I heard him a couple times doing ACC games for Fox Sports, I believe. Two pretty good candidates so far.
I hope it's Raftery, at least I could have fun listening while being forced to watch Sixers games.

I really loved Steve Mix as the Sixers. He is a very intelligent and the chemistry that he and Zumoff had i don't think will be matched.I really hate to see Mix leave he was truly one the best analyst in the business.
