can the 6ers sign a stud after next season

Unrestricted F/A's in 08 summer:

Elton Brand (would be ridic)
Gilbert Arenas
KG
Shawn Marion
Lamar Odom
Baron Davis
Ron Artest
Jason Kidd
Rasheed Wallace (Philly boy)
Corey Maggette
Chris Wilcox
Mike Bibby
Wally Szczerbiak
Jorge Garbajosa
Stephon Marbury
Stromile Swift

......AI

I thnk the 76ers may the only team with real money to make a play for some of these guys. It's a good off-season to have the money to spend. I think - correct me if I'm wrong - we'll be the biggest players next off-season.

Who knows with another lottery pick and a top F/A the 6ers could be good in 2 years.

Sheed is up for FA that soon? Wow, I didn't know that.

I really want Elton Brand, and I think he's the most realistic option.

this is all according to realgm.com. HKF says I'm wrong though. I think he knows what he's talking about but realgm.com shouldnt get stuff like that wrong. shouldnt it say player or team option? you'd think when they show the 08 f/a class they'd properly explain that the player needs to opt out in order to be an unrestricted f/a??

I have always found hoopshype.com to be useful regarding salaries and length of contracts. According to them:

Brand - player option, can opt out by giving up 16.4 mil
Arenas - player option, can opt out by giving up 12.8 mil
Antawn Jamison - FA
KG - player option, can opt out by giving up 24 mil
Shawn Marion - player option, can opt out by giving up ~17.2 mil
Lamar Odom - not available
Baron Davis - not available
Ron Artest - player option, can opt out by giving up 8.45 mil
Jason Kidd - not available
Rasheed Wallace - not available
Corey Maggette - player option, can opt out by giving up 8.4 mil
Chris Wilcox - not available
Mike Bibby - not available
Wally Szczerbiak - not available
Jorge Garbajosa - not available
Stephon Marbury - not available
Stromile Swift - player option, can opt out by giving up 6.2 mil

Actually, all of the players that were not available have 2 years left on their contract (making them FA after 2009). Is it possible that realgm.com just had the wron class posted? I would love Brand if he opts out though.

Brand and Arenas will test out the market, but they won't want to go Philly. No on KG and Marion. 6er's best bet is Maggette or Artest. But if they get Artest, they would have gone from A.I.'s ego to Artest's ego in two years, not much progress their.
