76ers @ Pistons (3/12/08)
Uh, we're kind've a big deal.
Sixers up 40-29 with 5:25 left in the first half.
The Sixers started off strong with huge thanks to Andre Iguodala who had 9 of the team's first 24 points.
In the Sixers' prior meetings with the Pistons they allowed the Pistons to slow down the pace and force them into their game. This time around the Sixers are getting into the open court and the Pistons are struggling to keep up. Reggie Evans is a huge factor in this one with his rebounding, his steals, his defense, and his ability to draw fouls down low on the offensive end.
I've stressed how important it was to steal one of these games where they'd be heavy underdogs so hopefully this is the one. While they developed a nice little cushion they need to wins to try and move forward.
Also looking at how the Sixers matched up with the Celts on Monday, and the Pistons today I have to say the Celtics are a clearly better team.

Pistons came back in a major way and eventually took the lead. Sixers stuck it out and came back and won the game 83-82.
They did this while Willie Green missed the game and Andre Miller sat out the majority of the fourth quarter. Rodney Carney stepped up and had his best game of the season with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Re: 76ers @ Pistons (3/12/08)
Great game tonight. I missed a majority of it due to work but I am pretty satisifed with the results. For some reason the Sixers match up well against the Pistons, so much so that I wouldn't be adverse to seeing them play in the playoffs. This game wouldn't have been close if Lou Williams would've shot better. 1-10 from the floor is no good, especially if he is trying to eat into Willie Green's PT. I would've liked for Sammy D to score the ball a bit better but I can't argue with 15 boards and three blocks.
I think the telling stat tonight was we only had 8 turnovers to Detroit's 15. Being careful with the ball is certainly paramount for the team when they play squad's with more talent.

We're making some noise now. A win over the Pistons is pretty big for any team.

Re: 76ers @ Pistons (3/12/08)
And most of all the last minuts we played without Miller(anybody knows if he is gonna miss the next game or not?).
Iggy started the pace and Carney did a huge game in the 2nd half ,i really like this guy and sometimes i think he has less minuts then the minuts he should have.
I think Sixers players don´t affraid no team in the league right now and if they can turn the game into their pace and not the oponent team pace we have a shot at every game we play ,plus Pistons is a team we might end up facing in the playoffs.

Andre Miller says he'll play Vs Chicago. Coach Cheeks says it'll be day-to-day. I'm thinking nothing will stop him from starting I mean this is a guy who has started 430+ straight games.
