andre miller

from a nugget fan i just wanted to come over and give Miller his due props. I was annoyed that Miller couldnt shoot threes (was a big problem in denver) but he really has done a nice job leading that young team in philly. I wonder if the Nuggets brass wished they had used their brains and traded for a 2 and kept Miller. Congrats...AI is long gone and your future as a club is looking pretty good right now.

I heard from a buddy that their is a minor league team project that allows your average fan to be a part owner. Basically you buy a share and you get to vote on basketball operations. I guess this includes the coach, players and all the other stuff. The website is currently guaging interest in the IBL. It isn't the pros but it still is basketball. Sounds better than running some pointless fantasy team.

Re: andre miller

I've always liked Dre since his days w/ Cleveland. His career stats are kinda weird tho because I thought he was going to put up double digit assist every year. He went from averaging 10.9 one year to averaging around 6.5 the next 3yrs. It doesn't look like he was injured in those 3 seasons, so not sure why his season assist totals decreased so dramatically?

Miller's career stats:

He doesn't have the flash of some of the star pt. guards but he knows how to run a team.

Re: andre miller

I'm really impressed with how he's adapted his game for the team he's on.

Re: andre miller

Miller is a terrific team player and a very smart basetball mind. He's got terrific midrange touch and great post play. He's also one of the best passers in the league. That was a terrific pickup by the sixers. You cant ask for a much better guy for Lou to learn behind either.

Re: andre miller

I'm pretty sure this is Andre Miller's last year on the Sixers, so the team will have to start preparing for the future without him. The Sixers are in a rough situation because Miller is in the last year of his deal and he's pretty much let it be known that he won't sign an extension. So do the Sixers move him before the deadline or do they chance losing him in free agency for nothing (or possibly for a sign and trade)?

The comment usually made for getting something done with Miller long term is that he doesn't have the game that will get worse as years go on because it's not based on athleticism. If the Sixers played a slower style of basketball I'd agree, but considering he's getting high end 30's or low 40 minutes a night the wear over an 82 game season is evident. At the end of this season he wasn't getting as much lift on his jumper, and was looking much slower. If that's how he looked after four months of running how will it be after a full season? Not to mention that running isn't really how Miller is used to playing.

It's something the Sixers will definitely have to consider.
