Watching Coleman playing on that bad knee....he might actually be the best center in the eastern conference. Even though he's undersized. He has a very solid game in the post. Can hit the 3. Rebounds well. And can block the occasional shot.
He's someone who has gotten a lot better as his body has detoirated. It makes me think what a waste. Derrick Coleman really, in all honesty, should have been the best power forward of his generation.
The player who is following closest the Derrick Coleman career path: Rasheed Wallace.
Though I would say coming out of Syracuse Derrick was even better than Rasheed coming from UNC.
Yeah, they are just alike. Except for one major thing: Malone has never been on the injured list, while Derrick Coleman can't seem to finish a season without going on the injured list.
