Iverson/Ford Round 2

Link
Quote:
It looks as if the bell for Round 2 has rung in the duel between 76ers interim head coach Chris Ford and superstar guard Allen Iverson.

Iverson did not show up for last night's game between the Sixers and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Wachovia Center. The Sixers said he had gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines, although he wouldn't have played because of a bruised right shoulder.

But Ford said that Iverson did not call him personally, as he has required, and that he was "very disappointed" Iverson did not follow the rules.

"There will be something levied for that," Ford said after the Sixers' 81-74 victory over the Timberwolves.

"There are rules in our handbook that was handed down at the beginning of the season, not my rules but the organizational rules. There are guidelines that are handed down."

We can only hope Iverson is not trying to pull a "Barkeley" and be so obnoxious that they trade him for lesser talent jjust to have him gone.

Well Ford's a lame duck anyway, but the odds of Iverson going seem greater every time he has a conflict.

Trading Iverson has gotta be a last resort.First of all, he puts fans in the seats and is a fan favorite. You would not only have to get equal or greater talent in return, you'd have get player(s) who are loved by the fans.If anybody should go, its Ford.
