Lineup Idea For Next Season
How about signing Marquis Daniels and Rafer Alston during the off season? That would really benefit this team I think. Rafer is a true point guard that can handle the ball under pressure and hit the occasional three ball and Marquis can play three positions onthe floor including point guard.
Right now, what I feel the Sixers need is an uptempo type of offense, Iverson and the rest of the young guys would excel in that kind of offense. Those two players could help us a lot in running that type of offense.
If we signed those two we could go with some really nice lineups next season especially if Johnny Salmons plays like he has been playing lately. We could go with lineups like this during a game and really create problems for other teams with:
PG - Skip
G - Iverson
G - Daniels
F - Salmons
C - Dalembert
OR
PG - Skip
SG - Daniels
SF - Salmons
PF - Kenny
C - Dalembert
(Lineup when Iverson is resting, I think he should only play around 35 mpg next season to save his energy for the playoffs and to prolong his career.)
Both lineups have players that can bring the ball up under pressure and can play the point. It would really make this team more enjoyable to watch with more fast breaks and better ball movement.
These are just the off season signings I think we should make if we get the chance to. Of course I would also like a lottery pick and get a bruiser down low or an athletic wing player.
What do you guys think?

Signing Rafer Alston, and Marquis Daniels isn't what this team needs, that's not taking away from them at all, but it's the truth. What the Sixers need is size more than anything else. So to say the least I'd be very dissapointed if we went in the exact opposite direction off adding size.

Not start at power forward, that's just a lineup to throw out into the game sometime to run the floor.

He is just mad that his Rockets suck too. They could easily not make the playoofs again this year. So Trip I wouldn't be saying Sixers suck, look at your own team.

Let's just deal with basketball talk and ideas we might like to improve the team. I'll offer a few, which may differ from other's point of view.
Center : Dalembert and healthy Jackson make a low scoring but more than adequete center tandem , especially in the East.Hamilton can be # 3 if you like.
Power forward : Kenny Thomas is a very solid player, just average offensively and a bit short at the position. But an improving , hard worker and decent defender. fine rebounder. Coleman, who I have liked, is out of the picture ASAP., so a back-up , hopefully 6'10" or so, is needed.
Small forward : Robinson was very disappointing. He never cared much for "D" or rebounding , but he has lost athleticism, seems out of condition and just is not the player he once was. A taller sf with a great outside shot would be perfect. Any ideas for a trade, pick-up or rookie?Buckner can leave now. Korver stays as a shooting specialist for limited minutes. He actually passes and rebounds a bit, but his lack of an NBA body and speed relegates him to a specialist. and very bad socks.
Guards: I don't care anymore who you call SG or PG, just need two guards a and a key sub (willie Green) who can do the job.Mckie can stay if all the other pieces fall togerther, as he is a consumate professional, but he needs to play less at his age and body degradation. So its Iverson, immaturity and all and another all around guard or the Iverson talent garnered in a trade (Mc Grady, BAron Davis, Allen whatever)Snow? Useless as a sub, really as he does not add spark off the bench. He is a stability guy, like McKie.
Maybe they can luck out and get Coleman, MacCullogh cap room, or have somebody who still likes Robinson. Or luck in the lottery, where the pickens' seem slim for quick help. If you trade Iverson, Nelson , who may become a Mo Cheeks, would be a fine and local choice.
Coach: I like Doc Rivers best.

I have wanted Rivers ever since Johnny Davis took over. I think he'd be great for the team. Of course i'd rather have mo cheeks back but that is just a pipe dream right now.
I am very comfortable with Dalembert and a healthy marc jackson tandem. That would be one of the best in the eastern conference.
Here's the lineup i would like to see:
C: Dalembert, Jackson, Schmo
PF: Ke. Thomas, use 2nd round pick for backup (Dorrell Wright, Arthur Johnson, Darius Rice?)
SF: Quentin Richardson (send iverson, or package him with snow in a sign and trade deal for athletic small forward, Q is perfect (maybe McGrady, Rashard Lewis, etc.), John Salmons, Korver
SG: Aaron Mckie, Willie Green
PG: Use 1st round pick for Jameer Nelson (or Ben Gordon, Shaun Livingston), sign veteran backup
So my ideal starting lineup for next year. . .
C: Dalembert
PF: Thomas
SF: Q. Richardson
SG: A. Mckie
PG: J. Nelson
Coach: Doc Rivers
