Only nine guards in the league shot at or above 45%. Cassell, Payton, Nash, Wade, Christie, Miller, Hamilton, Kittles, and Bibby.

Did you stop to realize that every single one of those guys you just mentioned are major pieces and starters on Playoff teams this year?

How about the fact that all of those guys have a better supporting cast that Iverson? When you have Glen Robinson as your second best scorer (when he is healthy or wants to play that is) you are going to be taking most of your team's shots. When you have the focus of the defense on you you don't shoot that high a percentage. That is a fact. Which of those guys are the #1 option on their team? NONE, besides maybe Hamilton.

ONCE AGAIN. Allen Iverson is a GOOD player. Not a GREAT one. If he averaged 25plus points shooting at about a 43-45% or higher he would be alot better and his team would win more. Just watch him play. His shot selection is terrible at times. He wants to go one on one all the time. Yes he will at times have amazing preformances but the next night he will go 5-25 with 30 points but most of them will come off of FT. He is inconsistent and hurts his team with his %. Its so obvious. Just watch the guy play a few times and you will see.

You better define what you consider a great player then, because I certainly see Iverson as a great player.

I think when his career is over, and people look back at it Iverson will be considered a great player. But like in a editorial Minstrel wrote up, there's not just one level of greatness. Anyone who witnessed Iverson during the 2000-01 season knows that he should be considered a great player. Is he on the same level as Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan, not at all.

One season does not make someone a great player.

2000-01 was the best year of Iverson's career, but it definitely wasn't his only great season. Truthfully, Iverson has only had one bad season (this past one), and this is coming from someone who isn't really a fan of him.

He's also a guy who's been one of the top ten players in the league for basically the majority of his career. I truthfully couldn't find a way to say he's not a great player.

Agreed. If you ask NBA players and coaches I doubt many of them won't say Iverson is a great player. He has been doing well since his rookie season and this year was an injuried plagued year. If you only consider three player to be great than I really can't argue can I? Not even KG is great? McGrady cbviously isn't either right?
