The Sixers have a good chance to make the playoffs this season. I think they won't make the Finals again for a good amount of time, they missed their chance in the 2001-02 season because of all the trades Larry Brown and BIlly King made. If they would've played it smart, gave Croce the promotion, didn't give out those horrible contracts to McKie and Mutombo we would've been in much better shape.
With Croce still in the organization, the Sixers would've never brought Derrick Coleman back. And there would be more attention paid to the Sixers from the upper management. I just don't understand why they offered a broken down McKie such a long contract, or why they believed what Mutombo did in the playoffs was worth the contract they gave him. If they kept the core together, they would've ran out of the East and would've lost to the Lakers again, but it would've been a closer series than the prior year.
