I'd honestly think about doing this trade. I really like Gooden's game, it's easy to overlook all the good he did in 2002-03 to focus on this past season. He would be a good pickup, and would provide energy off the bench (if needed), I think he needs to add muscle though, and operate more in the post than from the perimeter.
I don't know much of Reece Gaines, last time I watched him play he was in college. I heard a lot of bad things sad about him, so I don't know if that's was really how he played or a bad season making everything seem worse?
For Orlando, Eric Snow still has a handful of productive years left, and while he's not the defender he was in the past, he'd be a lot better provided that he could defend PGs for a whole game. Doesn't have a consistent shot, but is a big shot maker, so when the games on the line, it's always good to have Eric Snow on the floor.
John Salmons on the other hand, is a quality defender, but his play on the floor comes and goes with his confidence. He was drafted in hopes of being a PG, but with his loose handle and his court vision show he can't play the one for any amount of time. If Orlando had a better coach, they could probably get the most out of Salmons.
Only thing with this trade for the Sixers, they'd have to address the PG situation, to get another guy in to handle the rock.
