I guess Salmons, isn't the hot topic that Korver, Green, and Dalembert are. So, I'll fill in what I think Salmons can become.
Best Case Scenario: Doug Christie
Right now, John Salmons is a player without much confidence, when he was playing in the summer league last year he was in his element. He was confident, had command over the game, and was aggressive. When the regular season started, he showed improvement but not the amount we expected to see after his offseason. He has enough handle to bring the ball up court to relieve another guard, but until he really improves his handle he won't be a primary ball handler.
Is a superb defender, and when he's confident he has a nice stroke from the perimeter. He's a solid slasher, and knows how to get to the basket. It's also obvious that he won't be a guy who can take a team on his back, but he has the appearance of a potential solid third or fourth scorer. Unlike Willie Green, Salmons' size should allow him to become a spot starter, or if you have a good enough starting five, he could be a starter at SG or SF and you wouldn't really drop off much.
Superstar? No. All-Defensive team First team? No. But definitely a solid piece. Right now he's best utilized as a rotation guy. It'd be nice to see him improve his movement without the ball.
