Well... Last years draft had way too much drama, but that kind of made it fun.
I think it'll be fun to see how some different people play it, but last years champion should atleast be in it.

I think last year we rolled with 23 or 24 teams. Not to say we should end sign-ups now (we have under 20 now, which seems a little low) but just saying, no big deal if we don't get right to 30.

Yeah, we don't need 30.
I'll send some PMs out to some of the peeps from last year.
I'm thinking about starting it Sunday.
Everyone good with a Sunday, afternoon/early morning start?

Yep, that works.
Depending on how you feel about it, I'm happy to run two teams if that helps to get the league going.

Damn, can't pick the Suns. I guess I'll choose the Utah Jazz. However, if a Jazz fan signs up, I'll let him have the Jazz and I'll choose another team.

Alright, signups will close Saturday at 12EST. Which then I will get the randomized draft order and PM everyone telling them it starts on Sunday, at 12est/9pct.

Something I'd like y'all to consider. As we saw last year (and as I have seen in the 3 of these I've taken part in), picking early in the first round is a big advantage. The difference between Michael Jordan and a late first rounder is much much greater than between an early and a late second rounder.
Suggestion: combine rounds 6+7, 8+9, and 10-12 into three rounds with multiple picks. This allows the person who picked last in the first round to pick first in the 2nd, 4th, then get the first shot at the multiple picks in the first reserve round and the last reserve round . . . still a disadvantage but not as great a one. Even better, it speeds up the later rounds where people start to miss more picks and makes them more important.

Not sure I correctly followed that........
I'm probably going to keep this to 10 rounds. With an 11th round being a coach selection. Which the coach round would be a completely different randomized order. It would just be for fun to select a coach.

with 10 rounds, just make round 6 two picks (in same time as first 5 used for one) . . . round 7 make it 3 picks . . . then round 8 will be the coach's pick.
As for order, just trying to lessen the impact of luck in picking early in first round. Maybe just make sure coach's round is opposite order of first round; I'm a believer that coaches affect team defense significantly.
