Reed, English, Iverson, and Richardson are keepers, you can run your offense through English and Iverson while Richardson and Reed concentrate on making it easier for them. You probably don't need Spencer Haywood though. If you had a garbage man type at PF that doesn't require a lot of touches on offense it would balance out your starting lineup. There are still a few of them out there, not scrubs either, guys who made All Star teams or were on All-Defense teams.

I like Erving, Moncrief and Gilmore as the core of your team. That's a great trio, with the offense flowing through the Doc.
Coleman I can take or leave. He was, for a while, an amazing bag of potential who never seemed to fit well within a team concept. He'd put up some numbers in this league, but I also imagine him pouting over not getting enough touches, and not committing himself 100% to helping his team get the win.
Arenas belongs in this league, but I don't know about him dominating the ball in this starting lineup. The Arenas I've seen in his prime is a player whose teammates defer to him constantly. If you could pick up a decent pass-first point guard--at this point maybe a guy who wasn't all-world but made a couple all-star teams and played decent defense--you might consider making Gilbert your 6th man. He could be a monster, leading the second team and bringing an up-tempo, instant-offense game off the bench.

I disagree, Richardson needed the ball to be effective, Reed and Haywood make a nice pair if Haywood's head is on straight, Haywood and English score enough for any team with Reed and Richardson both excellent secondary scorers. I'd use AI off the bench for instant offense and get a glue guy to complement your starters; AI need to ball dominate and plays too poor a defense to be as effective as prime Haywood but as an explosive, game changer, he is terrific.

one of the strongest at this point, point guard and center are 2 of the most important position and on your team those players are 2 of the best 2 way players at their position in league history.
Solid Forward combination, with no real weaknesses.
Richmond is a great offensive threat, brings the outside shooting that the rest of the offense may have lacked and his defensive downside is covered by the other players.
very solid 5, i might go for a big defensive 2/3 soon (maybe not as sixth man but soon)

Jericho, you have terrific balance and nice defense, very nice team. How far your team goes in this context depends on whether Duncan can win the matchups against HOF centers like Wilt, Kareem, Russell, and Hakeem.

In 2001 Iverson was third in assists on his team to Eric Snow (7.4) and Aaron McKie (5.0). They can't get those assists without having the ball in their hands a lot. Nor can a team be a top five defensive team if a player playing close to 90% of the minutes is a poor defensive player. We do agree that there is too much offense on the team but I would prefer to keep that Iverson, the MVP, the one who knew how to lead a team to wins, in the starting lineup.

There's not that much of a difference between the Hawks and the Spurs in terms of team makeup. They both have one too many ball dominating players, a great defensive guard, an average defensive guard, high scoring small forwards not known for their defense, and great interior defense and rebounding.

It looks really good. Except Gilbo and Drunko-Coleman don't really fit with this team so much. Arenas is a "chucker" (42% for the season) and Coleman is well, not that great at defending other PFs.
