Of course no one will expect that. He'll be around alot better players.
And that's why drafting known defenders is just as important as offensive players.

I'm glad I didn't have to take Jordan. It's kind of one of those things, if Michael goes
past top 3, it's almost like you HAVE to take him.
I want a fast-break oriented team. No one better then the Magic man.
I'm taking Magic from his MVP, 88-89 season.
22ppg 12apg 8rpg 2spg and shooting 51% from the field.

Well, on my charts I had Kareem Abdul-Jabar at #1, Magic Johnson at #2, a player at #3 whose name I won't say because I don't want to give away ideas, and #4 Jordan, and I was hoping Jordan would go in the top 2 for that exact reason.
Oh well, I don't mind picking Jordan, because with him, I can run half-court or full-court, there's tons of great Forwards, point guards left from NBA history, and he provides great defense. Obviously you can be upset about picking MJ, but not my #1 pick.
Honestly I think we should drop the whole from the " " season thing, and just assume we mean from their peak, because depending on the team, they're going to pass or shoot more and what not.
Anyway, good pick with Magic, I expected as much.

Getting Bill Russell with the 7th pick is a steal.

I wouldn't consider it a steal considering
1) its a draft of all the players ever to play the game
2) its the 7th pick, its in the top 10
3) Bill Russell is a great player, who won a lot of championship, but for the time period, that Celtics team was pretty stacked and Bill Russell would not be able to grab 25 boards a game against stronger competition, and in todays league and style of game.
