Yeah. There was never a doubt on who I was taking. If guy picking #1 took Wilt, I'd take Kareem. If he ended up taking Kareem I would of took Wilt. Can't pass up the legendary big men.

Russell was the original big blocker innovating defense for the rest of time and that was what made him a Great, along with those 11 titles he won. Hakeem on the other hand took it to the same level, if not a new one in a more competitive league.

Bill Russell is the greatest defensive player ever, and it's not close. Russell would have been All defense 1st team every season of his career, but the league didn't starting naming All defensive teams until his last season. No one played better against Wilt, who was about 4 inches taller than Russell. Russell won 5 MVPs, and led the league in rebounding 4 times, all this while having to compete against Chamberlain. Not to mention being the best player on the greatest dynasty ever, it's not close, Russell is clearly ahead of Olajuwon.

ANOUNCEMENT:
Regarding sleep time. The clock will stop at 2EST/11PCT at night.
Then the clock will start again at 9EST/6PCT. People are allowed to pick at night.
But the clock will not skip anyone during that sleep period.

Since you're a San Antonio fan, you probably deserved it.
Sorry, I'm not really familiar with Eastern Time, since I live in Dallas (Central Time).

He played both forward positions, and played them both pretty well. In a modern setting he would probably be better off at small forward (a slashing type small forward).
