Depends on each team's objective, I think. Denver is obviously going for broke and trying to win now. Kidd has maybe 2 years left of playing at a truly high level, and management is banking on him being a better fit with Iverson than Anthony has been.

Anthony is a great building block for a Nets franchise that's probably gone as far as it will go with the current roster. He immediately becomes their best post scorer, and first option on offense. His presence will re-ignite fan interest, and for as long as Carter is kept around the two of them actually could mesh well together.

I don't like that deal for Denver. It doesn't make them contenders. They're just turned into Nets of the West with Camby at C. If they couldn't do anything else, I would've just tried to deal A.I and Camby and whomever, just get what you can and tear it down now. Then you at least have a building block in Melo.


ATL deal doesn't work. They can't trade their 2009 draft pick with PHX owning their '08 pick. Unless it was a draft day trade and they picked for them (which it's not). But they can't trade it 2 yrs in a row.
