Same old Marion rumor...plus separate draft rumor
small tidbit I saw on hoopshype in this article..which makes no sense, trading someone valuable and bringing in more money left with Chandler's deal.

The scuttlebutt among some NBA officials Thursday was that fired New York Knicks coach Larry Brown will find another coaching job next season, and that the Bulls and Suns are giving serious thought to a trade in which Suns forward Shawn Marion would be jettisoned to the Bulls for power forward Tyson Chandler and the Bulls' top draft pick, which is the second overall choice. ...

Expect the Suns to find themselves in the teens draft night, as high as 13. The Sixers are supposedly willing to move down in the draft in return for #21 and #27, although the Sixers somehow hoping to squeeze Leandro Barbosa into the deal in place of the #21 pick.
Players the Suns are rumored to have their on is growing by the day, and now includes Hilton Armstrong and Ronnie Brewer along with the already known Thabo Sefolosha, Saer Sene, and Rodney Carney.

Re: Same old Marion rumor...plus separate draft rumor
Wow. That Marion for chandler is definately a crap idea. Chandler boo, 2nd pick yay, no marion giant boo. So two boo's and 1 yay makes it not worth it at all.
It's interesting to see us maybe moving up to 13 i like the idea, but i also like the idea of still having two draft picks although i dont want barbosa involved, and i don't see who else we could trade apart from JR i guess. Who would we be going for at 13? Sene

I was thinking that if they did get that 13th pick, they were hoping for a SG they could throw into their starting lineup in a few years, perhaps Reddick, Brewer or Carney? I was thinking they want a center, but I mean, they've got Diaw and K. Thomas, and in my opinion, C - Diaw, PF - Stoudemire, SF - Marion, SG - Raja/Draft Pick/Barbosa (most likely Raja) and PG - Steve Nash is a fine line, and they don't need another center when they've got Kurt Thomas as backup for strength and defensive purposes. Just a thought. I doubt they'd use their 13th pick on Sene, considering they got probably get him at 21 if they wanted to, unless some teams show a lot of interest. I thought they might take Jordan Farmar with the 21st pick, and try to get Barbosa to be a SG.
By the way, I highly doubt they'd trade Marion for Chandler and a draft pick, especially not right now because Stoudemire is still questionable for the first while of the season. If something happens to him, the suns are screwed wihout a force like Marion in the frontcourt.

Re: Same old Marion rumor...plus separate draft rumor
Nobody we could draft at #13 is better than Barbosa, why in the world would we do that deal? Especially since Barbs fits our system perfectly.

Eh, we can't add Dalembert's contract on top of Marion, Nash, and Amare. Soon Diaw. Even if we get rid of Kurt, we're just addin salary that could be shaved off for future room when Kurt's deal expires soon. It's just like trading Marion for Chandler. Not only that, but we need Kurt's defense.

Yeah, I doubt we'd give up Barbosa, unless we know we couldn't afford him next yr. I think that'd be the Sixers trying to stretch it a little.

I hope these rumors get shot down or pass by without anything happening. I hate all this talk about Marion.

Re: Same old Marion rumor...plus separate draft rumor
I am so sick of all these Marion rumors. The best trade the Suns never made was Marion for X player before the 04-05 season.
Marion and Amare will WRECK **** this year as a front line team. Why the **** would you mess that up?

Re: Same old Marion rumor...plus separate draft rumor
PTI had the trade on their Odds game, Bob Ryan said 75% he thinks it goes down cuz of Diaw, and mentioned how he needs to apologize for blasting Marion at what happened during the Olympics. Wilbon was lit up with happiness at the thought of the trade cuz he's a Chicago guy but said 25% for it to happen.
