Kobe Vs. Nash; Who was the MVP?
I really want to see the arguments about the contriversy over who should of been MVP. I honestly think Steve was MVP overall. Kobe, no doubt, was the life of the Lakers and kept them going, especially with the Game 4 buzzer beater. What do you guys think?

Re: Kobe Vs. Nash; Who was the MVP?
Kobe was the BEST play in the league last season. Steve Nash, Dirk or Lebron where the MVP. The MVP isn't the award for the best player. I can understand peoples arguments against Nash but Kobe wasn't more deserving. You can see that from the way he played in game 7 of the playoffs. If Lebron was allowed to shoot as much as Kobe then he would have had as many or more PPG than Kobe.

Re: Kobe Vs. Nash; Who was the MVP?
No Kobe wasn't lol. However ur sig is sooo spot on, worst call ever. How could the ref make that decsion with 5 seconds left, when it was no where near a clean cut decision for a penalty.
WE LOVE YOU SOCCEROOS

Kobe was not in the running. It was Steve, LeBron or Dirk's to lose.

WEll next season maybe, but he only took 3-4 less shots/p/game than Kobe, and he actually had the ball in his hands more than Kobe. On top of that, Kobe often got the ball to take tough shots when the clock was running down and the others couldn't make anything happen, and Lebron has got to work on his shooting (especially free throws) a little. Of course, in the long-run, Lebron will have a better career.

Anyway, Kobe couldn't have been the MVP. I mean, I'm happy he took the shots he did, or the Lakers would not have gotten into the playoffs. However, if you give him a solid running rate, his points would go down by about 4-5 but not a lot, and he'd shoot a higher percentage provided that running mate can make plays. At the end of the day though, him and Nash did the same thing, they ripped defenses apart, but they did it in different ways. Ultimately, Nash's system worked better, and he was basically a 20point/10assist person who could be counted on to score at such a high percentage, and he's a backcourt player, THATS RARE, and the Suns did a lot better. LeBron carried the cavs a lot after Hughes got injured, but if Larry was around all year, Lebrons points would be down too.
At the end of the day, Nash is MVP, only person with a solid argument is Dirk Nowitzki and possibly LeBron but I think he was in a Kobe like scenerio, but he didn't hit 50point games and take 30+ shots so often, so it was kind of ignored.

Re: Kobe Vs. Nash; Who was the MVP?
A reason of Steve for MVP, the assists, clearly the most valuable player MUST be a team player. Compare the assists of Kobe and Nash.....You will be amazed. Plus steve still scored a lot, in this case his hard work was apreciated clearly and well. Steve was MVP for many reasons. He kept his team alive. He made all the players shine in all their specific catagories. There should be no argument at all. But yet again, this is an oppinion. Let's hear some Kobe fans talk some more. ^_^

Re: Kobe Vs. Nash; Who was the MVP?
lol that video is funny..
the fact that the lakers were losing badly, and no one else was creating on offense (when kobe took over) tells me that whoever made that video is a true hater. can't ignore logic man, can't ignore it.
i bet if his favorite player got 81 points, he wouldn't say 'he could have passed.. but he didnt'
