Mike D must love his men small...
Why has he not started Amare and Kurt, and have Diaw come off the bench?
It would give you the defense, rebounding, and power down low to start with.
Is D'Antoni not embarased to show off his small size?

I've been saying the same thing forever. I think he is
too close-minded. He only thinks one way. That's why I get upset
with him at times. Surpised more Suns fans don't.......

I know he is in love with his system, and it does work to an extent. But it just seems that decent guards are penetrating the paint at will. The lanes have been left open, and there just isn’t any defense down low.
Has there been anytime for more then 10 mins where both KT and Amare have been on the floor?
I think he is going to have to readjust his plan. Too many teams now are playing at a high level now, and maybe the "stay small, outscore all" offense isn’t going to cut it.

Perhaps 2 minutes at the longest. But I've never seen it very often. I think
it was 2 minutes out of the 6 games they have played. He definitely needs to
adjust his game plan. The Suns are in perfect shape to play normal style of ball.
We'll have to see........

Re: Mike D must love his men small...
I agree. The Suns are so versatile, they can go with so many different lineups and looks. Mike D needs to find this set rotation as soon as possible, and the starters need to be Nash, Bell, Marion, Amare, KT. From there, they can substitute accordingly, most likely Diaw off the bench 1st. Im not sure if Mike D understands that they need to switch up there running game, they cant keep running all the time. When we build a 10 point lead, we need to slow things down, try to work it in the half court set a bit. They have the players to execute the running game, and the half court set offense. All running does when your up like the Suns have been up thus far this season, is give the opposition a chance to get back in the game. When you run like the Suns do, you can be down by 15 one second, up by ten the next. Sometimes running too much is just counterproductive. But Mike D is a professional, he will eventually realize this. Im not worried about this team whatsoever right now. They will get things together. While watching the game the other day, I inquired that the Suns want to run Rose, Diaw, and Barbosa when Nash is not in the game. I absolutey love this look. Take a look at a couple different lineups and options.....
Starters: Nash
Bell
Marion
Amare
KT
(solid mix of size, defense, and rebounding)
Uptempo: Nash, Banks
Barbosa
Marion
Diaw
Amare
(the Suns have the fastest backcourt in the league)
Playmakers: Nash, Barbosa
Bell, Banks
Rose
Diaw
Amare
(With this lineup, you have three very good passers. Nash probably will not run with this group too much, probably Barbosa over Nash so he can get rest)
Small Ball: Nash
Barbosa
Bell
Marion
Amare
Key Notes Thus Far
-I expected Banks to play a bigger role than he has up to this point. He has shown to be aggresive on the defensive end, but his playmaking skills have not impressed D' Antoni. I hope he can play well enough in this area to be able to stay in games. Turnovers have been a problem.
-Amare isnt 100% yet, but he has looked very good during stretches this season. I expect his defense and rebounding to gradually improve throughout the year.
-James Jones seems to be falling out of the rotation. His defense has been pretty good though, and he did a good job on Nowitzki the other night. I hope he can efficiently guard the oppositions second best scorer when hes in the game with Marion.
So a 1-5 start. Sure we can do better. ADJUSTMENTS NEED TO BE MADE, AND OUR GAME PLAN NEEDS TO CHANGE THROUGHOUT EACH GAME. WE CANNOT KEEP RUNNING WHEN WE BUILD 10, 15 POINT LEADS. SLOW IT DOWN, WORK AMARE IN THE POST AT THESE TIMES.
With that said, Mike D will figure things out. Hopefuly we can stay healthy, and if we do, we will be the best team in the league come All-Star break, you can bank on that.

Re: Mike D must love his men small...
^ good post, and I agree. The Suns roster has the ability to play different types of games, running, defensive, etc with its versitility of players.
And with the versitility, you guys are able to have players to where you can adjust your offense and defense based on situation. Mike D just needs to see that, and understand that the "run, run, run" cant work all the time.
Hopefully Diaw can step it back up to whats expected. He is killing my fantasy team...

Re: Mike D must love his men small...
I think Mike saw this.......he played Amare, Kurt and Marion
together for about 7 minutes to end the 2nd quarter. The lineup
was Nash, LB, Marion, Amare and Kurt. That lineup gave
us an 11 point lead after being down 9..........It definitely gave us
defense, rebounding, and our offense was still there.
