“Well Surprise, Surprise!”

In the great words of Fat *******, “Surprise, surprise!” The Phoenix Suns
are struggling. Many predicted the Suns were in for a rocky first month. And all the
predictions have come true. The Suns have not found their balance of offense and defense
that was so crucial for last years 54 win team. When they have found their offense, their defense goes MIA. And when they get their defense going, their offense quickly fades like the **** stains
on your boxers after using tide cleaner. It didn’t help that Steve Nash missed two games when
he had to sit because of back spasms. Just as the Suns were starting to get things together. Although the Suns were able to get a great win over Philadelphia, they could of used his leadership against the Jazz down the stretch.
The slow start can also be contributed to the Amare factor. For the first few games Stoudemire was in search of his game. Trying to keep his knees from stiffening up. As well as focusing on helping this team with his offense. It wasn’t until a few games ago, when Mike D’Antoni decided to start Amare Stoudemire over Kurt Thomas. It was a bold move, since Kurt was playing some of the best basketball of his short career in Phoenix. But STAT has shown
he is deserving of the start, his last three games has given him averages of 22.2ppg 12rpg 1bpg
while shooting 61% from the floor in only 32 minutes of play. He is still struggling on defense, where he tends to pick up ticky-tack fouls.
They still have time to redeem themselves. A great opportunity approaches with
the last five games of November. Two on the road against the Warriors and the Blazers. While
three come against the Hornets, Nets, and Rockets at home. They then head into December
for their first two games to come against the Bucks and Kings at home. Hopefully they will have
found their groove. If not, a five game road trip will not be very pleasant. Expect to see the Suns
above .500. Come December.
