Steve Nash Charity Classic

Quote:
VANCOUVER (CP) - There was plenty of flashy moves and hometown love as two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash hosted his charity classic basketball game Saturday night.

A crowd noisy crowd of over 10,000 at GM Place cheered spinning dunks and no-look passes, but their loudest shouts were reserved for each time Nash, who grew up in Victoria, touched the ball.

The Phoenix Suns' point guard, and Canada's most famous basketball export, didn't disappoint.

Nash used an alley-oop pass to set up Alando Tucker for a thunderous dunk. He snagged a loose ball off the floor and flipped it to Leandro Barbosa for a smooth layup. He also drained a couple shots of his own, bringing a roar from the fans.

In other words, it was a typical game for Nash, except he had a smile on his face all night and was raising money for the Steve Nash Foundation.

The crowd loved it too.

Re: Steve Nash Charity Classic

The game was great. I was lucky enough to get to go, and was not disappointed. Alando Tucker stole the show. He had a bunch of great alley-oops from Steve, and also some highlight reel dunks on his own. DJ Strawberry also had some nice dimes. Hopefully he has the game in Vancouver again next year, because it was a really fun experience.

And Drew Gooden still has his damn "duck tail." Still looks like a damn moron.
